I really enjoyed this hostel for its location. It was right in the center of all of the bars, clubs, restaurants... but you could still get a great night sleep if you wanter. It was clean, great staff, and lots of room.

Dingy, dirty hostel, which had been officially closed by the authorities, we had to go through the back door to get in. Dorms were pretty grim as were the bathrooms. The area is pretty sketchy too, lots of crack heads hanging about outside. I would stay at the Secret Garden in the old town.
Spent 2 nights at Blue House.
Pluses:
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Very clean rooms and communal spaces.
Excellent location if you want to be in the midst of the Mariscal.
Great price ($30 for a double bed ensuite).
Hot water!
Minuses:
"Included breakfast" is some do-it-yourself cereal and fruit, and you wash up afterward.

this hostel was one of the best one i have seen in my travel time. very good location for travelers, in mariscal district and half block to trolley that takes you to old town. great place to meet other travelers and make friends. nice size room and very friendly staff, poor guy had stay on call all night to buzz...
