A beautifully appointed rustic boutique hotel with a fabulous view of all of Quito from almost every spot on the property. We only stayed for one night and ended up being upgraded to their best suite which was stunning and quite a lovely surprise. The staff picked us up from the airport, drove us up to the hotel which was... More

The drive from Quito airport took just over an hour and once we left the town of Quito, we were then heading steeply up, approximately another 2000 metres higher, over increasingly rough and unmade roads. The beauty of this place is breathtaking, not just because of the altitude and we were met on our arrival in the car park, by... More

From the first moment you step onto the property you are transported! You drive up, up, up into the hills to a little slice of heaven. The grounds complete with alpacas, peacocks, and horses, are beyond beautiful. The rooms decorated with eclectic bohemian chic are colorful, unique, perfect, and wonderfully comfortable. The staff are efficient, helpful, friendly, and the owner,... More

We didn't stay at Hacienda Rumiloma but did eat dinner there. We had prebooked through our agent and so were served the "tourist menu". The menu provided great options and we enjoyed the meal. We looked at the regular menu and though it may be a little high based on regular Ecuador prices we did not find it out of... More

Rumiloma is pure magic! We enjoyed a most amazing evening with family and a large group of friends when we dined here during our travels around Ecuador. The hotel owner was beyond gracious and her staff could not have been more accommodating - our dining experience was absolutely stellar. The meal was delicious of course, but also creative and inventive,... More

A writer and photographer, I have travelled a large part of the world, staying in the finest hotels and the most elementary facilities. When I discovered Rumiloma, I fell in love and wrote about it in an article on my webpage andrehugosplace . Anyone visiting Quito, can choose between staying in a sterile, international chain hotel or in Rumiloma. Perched... More

I read about this restaurant (we did not stay at the hotel) in the New York Times and was so happy we were able to make it. It is really up in the clouds. In fact, our cab driver ended up charging us more because it was so high up. From Old Town to the restaurant it was $15 -... More

We stayed as a family on three separate occasions over 2 weeks whilst we traveled around Equador (Quito, Galapagos and the rain forest). This small yet luxurious hacienda is extraordinary with excellent service from collection at the airport to all the staff at the hotel and restaurant. As a family of five with a range of children's ages (7 to... More

We stayed with my husband at Hacienda Rumiloma last February to explore some options for our clients. It was an amazing place, with EXCELLENT customer service, views, breakfast. Dont be surprise when you get there 1st time because of the unpaved road, its the only way to get there and it makes the place and location even more unique :)... More

We stayed 2 nights. This is a quirky spot. it is hard to describe the funky decor. We were put in one room that had a stone tile sunken bath, and then they moved us to another, presumably better room with a beaten copper bath. There are odd pieces, lamps, chairs, sideboards and closets throughout both rooms. While we were... More
