This is probably one of the nicest hostels that we stayed in on our two month trip. The owners were very friendly.

Spent 4 nights in Casa Hostal 199 following a lengthy early December trip from chilly Canada but the warmth of the reception from Alejandro, Trini, and Franchesco set the stage for an absolutely GREAT stay in Valpo. Being a typical business traveler (read - corporate hotels, etc) I chose to stay at B&Bs (with a degree of uncertainty on my...

I've been in Valparaiso many times. The reason I keep coming back is its architecture, the hills, the houses, the steep streets, the smell (not always great), and the people.
Artilleria 199 is maybe the best kept late 1800's house to remain standing. The owners are really nice and tell the visitors all about the process of turning this old...

Casa Hostal 199 is located at the top of a hill with spectacular views out the rooms' windows. The house is a beautiful old Victorian, well kept and decorated with cool original art by the owners and their family.
The rooms were immaculate and extremely spacious with comfortable beds and stylish modern bathroom fixtures.
Don't let the location "on the...

This is a lovely place to stay: very clean and elegant and with stupendous views across the bay. Alejandro and Trinny take care of you and are full of ideas so you can get the best out of Valparaiso. You have to do the walking tour with Mike, the German Pirate. I don't normally like tours but this was fantastic....

We stayed there for 4 nigths and we had a fantastic time. The owners are increadible kind and lovely people. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. In the morning you can enjoy the stunning view onto Valparaiso while you are having a perfect breakfast.
I loved this place. Everything about it, from the amazing friendly welcome from the owners, the breakfast, the views, the art work, the decor. As a solo traveller they just made me feel so at home.
Casa Hostal is highly recommended. I stayed in room number 4 (single). Magnificent views and a comfortable bed. I could stay in bed a see the sunrise everyday. Make sure to eat breakfast outdoors and try the fish soup at the blue house next door. The hosts are wonderful people. They will make the best out of your stay. Don't...

I stayed at the room "Flores guajiras" on a Winter day. The house is beautiful and cozy, and the room itself has a magnificent view over the harbour and Valparaiso bay. Its romantic decoration with flowered wallpaper, iron furniture and white linen made my stay very pleasant. It was a cold day outside and I was received with a hot...

Our stay in Valparaiso was shortened to just one night, but we were glad we spent it at the 199. We arrived very late (after a long flight + bus journey) and it was a very cold evening, so it was great to see a nice, smiling face and have a warm and comfortable bed. Trini was lovely, as was...
