The positives: The staff are friendly, the location is excellent and it has great facilities (kitchen/breakfast). The negatives: It could be a little cleaner and the main problem is that if you are given a room on the second floor on top of the reception, they play loud music all throughout the night so bring a good pair of earplugs!

It's right across the street from the Subway. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and I'd definitely stay here if I return to Santiago. Made my stay all the better!

Stayed one night in April 2012 in one of the apartments. Friendly knowledgable staff with good English. Great Service, Faultlessly Clean, Fully Self Contained and close to cafes, railway station and supermarket. Used TransVIP to get there and it was seamless, they stored our luggage and used the train and our feet to get around. Great City for walking. Wouldn't... More

Stayed in a 6-bed dorm room, which was clean and fresh. Loved the fact that the room hade wooden floors and no rugs! Lockers for your stuff, and bathroom just next door (stayed in room #32). The bathroom was tidy and looked really modern, and for once it was good to have toilets and showers in separate rooms. The beds... More

Andes Hostel was recommended to me by another traveller and he raved so much about it that I booked it without even reading the reviews. The hostel is located right next to a subway station and 5-10 mins walk from the central Plaza de Armas square, and again 5 mins walk from the Cerro Santa Lucia park and loads of... More

We stayed in a private double room with ensuite in the hostel building itself. The room was pretty basic - only net curtains meant it didn't get properly dark - but serviceable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Being on the floor directly above the hostel's reception/bar area did mean it stayed quite noisy quite late into the... More

We were basically only in Santiago for less than 24 hours so we wanted a hostel that was affordable, clean, and in a good location. We hit the jackpot here. I was so pleasantly surprised when we got to our room, it was nicely styled and the bathroom was something i would expect in a really trendy hotel. The hotel... More

Two of my friends and I stayed here in early Feb 2012 for 3 days - we booked a private 3 person suite and had no idea we were going to be staying in a luxurious apartment with all amendments. Although I'm not the kind of guy to stay in the hotel much, this place rocked - pool, fridge, balcony... More

Just stayed here in Jan/Feb 2012. Awesome hostel staff. If you get a private suit at the apartment building amazing place for a great price. Private room with balcony if lucky views of the Andes surrounding Santiago. Also right in the middle of the city walking distance to some of the major historic attractions.

My husband, 3-yr-old daughter, and I stayed in an Andes apartment in Oct. 2011. It was amazing! The location, secure building, and apartment itself were all perfect. The apartment was cleaner than I ever manage to get my own home. The staff in the hostel were super friendly, and hosted a fun spaghetti night where we met a bunch of... More
