Finally a hostel who keeps her promises fully equipped kitchen, working wifi, clean and spacy rooms, warm water and flushing toilets. The Ecohostel is central located so you can reach most interesting sites of downtown by foot or bus. The staff is very helpfull, friendly and giving you a feeling of being welcome. The patio is a perfect place to... More

Eco Hostel is a pretty good hostel. Rooms are spacious and the price is quite reasonable for Chile. As far as I could tell eco hostel just means that they recycle things which is good but coming from Europe you´d expect an ecohostel to have solar panels etc but there wasn´t much evidence fo this. The hostel is quite well... More

This is far from the most welcoming hostel I've stayed in. On arrival we were talked through things to do in Santiago and the hostel facilities which was fine but done at break kneck speed as if the guy was not interested if we were there or not. Also the hostel is incredibly fussy with signs all over the place... More

We started our trip in South America in this hostel, and it was a very good choice! The hostel is in an old house with high ceilings and nicely decorated. Location: It is only 15min. walk to the metro and to supermarkets, but restaurants are so cheap in Santiago, that you might skip buying your own food, as the quality... More

We started our journey in the Ecohostel and had a lovely time there. The stuff was very help, specially Joerg who was so helpful and patient with my hysteric emails from the airport ;) We stayed in a room on the first floor, had a lot of light in our room and i loved the decoration and the good vibe... We stayed in the ecohostel for 5 nights and loved it! The room was nice and clean. It would be nice if you could cool the room down better during the day, but well, there was a fan which was sufficient. Bathrooms were clean and the showers nice. The included breakfast consists of Fruit, Toast, Jam (good one), butter, cereals... More

After travelling South America for 3 months we stayed the last 2 weeks in Eco Hostel Santiago. That alone tells you something. It was probably the nicest place we had during the whole trip. Just off Ave Portugal, 10 minutes walk to metro station "Universidad Catolica", thus easily reached from the bus terminals. It has a well-equipped kitchen, a clean... More

First thing you have to do when you check in is to make up your bed - they just give you sheets and you do the rest. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom, which had a very strange smell. The mattresses are really good. Breakfast ran out quite early and we had to wait for the staff... More

Good location, though we did struggle slightly to find it at night *quiet street and front is like a house) but we did have the street number. Staff very welcoming, rooms very clean as is the rest of the hostal. Decent showers, hot water 24/7. Breakfast well stocked and tasty and good kitchen facilities for cooking your own food. Two... A friendly place, clean and comfortable, felt like been in someones living room :D Great breakfast, good location, walking distance from the subway (Metro1, Universidad catolica) and also from the city, f ex. Bellavista (pubs, restaurants etc). Nearby two big supermarkets, good kitchen. The staff gave me excellent advises for travelling in southern Chile!
