La Casa Roja was a fantastic place to kickstart our tour of Chile. Although we stayed in Santiago only at the beginning (one night) and end (two nights) of our trip, its laid back atmosphere and pools were perfect to relax. Staff were super friendly, and extending checkout times/storing bags before having to depart for our flights were a great... More

Stayed here( April 26-28) after backpacking Torres del Paine (patagonia) with my son(28yrs). Immediately impressed by its incredible character (formely old mansion). Approx. 16ft. room height and large lounge areas. Front desk staff were efficient and helpful. They were looking to hire staff from tourists so I would suggest that some of the negative comments regarding staff was related to... More

La Casa Roja it's a great hostel for the youth. Parties, pool, lots of people from everywhere. It has a nice staff and also great breakfast. I stayed in a private triple room with friends and was a right choice. It can be better in cleanliness, specially in the shared bathroom, the towels are really old and if your room... More

This hostel is located quite near to the city center. That's a good thing. The old & mainly huge house the hostal is created in also is amazing. Pool in backyard is nice. But the floors are terribly squeaky, making it hard not to wake up the other people in your dorm when you leave early (like I had to)... More

The hostel is a really beautiful older house. The dorm rooms are the most spacious I have encountered and the hostel seemed to be clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It has been coined as a "party" hostel but compared to other "party" hostels I wouldn't describe it as that. Sometimes people have a few drinks but it... More

We felt very welcome here, the staff were friendly, as were the hostel residents. The place is clean and very spacious, the rooms are enormous! The pool is also nice and the place has free internet, a plus for any traveller! Only downside is the high ceilings and open windows at the top of the dormitory doors mean it can... More

Everything was as expected: rooms, people were'nt noisy, central location, and friendly staff with a lot of information. Disadvantage: 1) In this price, you could get an included breakfast (look Don Santiago) 2) in my room (6) there weren't any electric sockets.

La Casa Roja is a beautiful big house located a few blocks from Santiago downtown. I love the garden, the pool and the court area. However, I feel like the people working in that place are there to do a work and not to give a good service. They were nice but not a very warm welcome, especially because that... More

Good cool hostel.. one of the best iv seen.. just sucks that so much lets it down. There are kids yelling in the pool all day and the music is blasted til 4.30am and too many Italians trying to sing along. Definitely bring the ear plugs. Showers dont work. Towels smell like ear wax. Great for a bender.. bad for... More
