First of all, kudos to the kind and charming starts. My special credit and love goes to both Yurmilaa & Nora, for their smiley face and kind explainations. The room and the hotel is indeed very clean. No water bottles provided yet they have water dispenser in each floor and water kettle for use. Cozy beds and cleaner room. The hotel seems like a old, but the maintenance seems okay. When I was registering I saw a father and son was complaining that their room roof was leaking since its was raining outside. Guess the hotel is doing their repair and upgrading works floor by floor which is not completd at the moment. Besides that, The concierge guys are very helpful as well. There's this one Indian uncle who helped me so well guiding me on the areas around there and to my destination. Thanks for this nice experience.

Black fungus around in the room , smelly carpet , bedsheets , room. There is an issue with very old furniture and decor . Definitely not a 4 star for sure. They have big rooms that’s the only advantage. Dirty smelly sheets …avoid if you can. We stayed for 3 nights .

I wake up smelling like the pillows ,it has a strong odour of disinfection .The mattress ,pillows ,bed sheets and towels are old and tired The room is retro and comfortably big.Clean bathroom.Carpet is old The lobby is again retro and pleasant The location is great for anyone who like to be near Orchard road, for shopping ,cafes and restaurants.Very conveniently a few bus stops away Will I stay here again ?,yes I would and will bring my own pillow and towels

Terrible hospitality and service during our covid incident by October 24th. The hotel employee that we assumed act as the manager (since she has her own room) had acted so rude and unsupportive with our good intention of letting them know that our senior family member contracted covid during our stay, ruining the whole good experience within earlier stays. Considering we were being honest and cooperative by letting them know right after checking to the hospital, they refused to help us extend the stay (even though we were willing to pay right away) manually and asked us to extend ourselves with online booking and to came back by the next day. When we returned at the exact time requested the next morning, she complained that the booking had not been submitted by the OAT yet and commanded us to return an hour later, instead of being compassion and understanding of our current situation (mind you we were foreign tourists having a senior member there); even though we brought the purchase proof. When challenged, instead she raised her voices, and they dared to call themselves 3-4 stars hotel? The only positive highlights I can come up here is that the male receptionist that served us for the extension after the second requested time we returned; and the cleaning service really were kind and understanding enough with our incidents.

We were originally booked at the Furama Riverfront Hotel but due to JETSTAR cancellations we had to extend our stay at the Furama and they MISSED the extra 3 day extension I had requested ( and got ). The Furama had no rooms left so we had to 'get out' ( Don't stay there ). We went to the Royal and it is a MUCH better hotel than the Furama. The Royal IS a 4 star hotel. Although short, our stay there was great. Everyone we spoke to was polite and helpful. The room was large, clean and quiet. We ate a lot in the 'Tearoom' in the foyer and had some great meals. The hotel is a bit out of the way but a long walk will get you to Orchard Road without too much trouble. Taxi's are plentiful. Recommended highly.

The name of the hotel 'Royal' brought shame. Check in process were slow and difficult. We had 2 rooms booked. The room number 700 was so dirty. Strong stale air could make one sick. We had to ask for room change .The other room 717 was equally bad but at least the AC was strong. Had to call for housekeeping team to change ALL the linen as there were spots of blood stain and some torn areas. The walls stain and dust heaps at curtains and everywhere. It was sad to know that due to lack of housekeeping staff and good linen, all room preparation were done badly with no checks for next check in. Came to know that due to high number of day use and for the sake of business profits, the rooms are sold even it is in pathetic state. The front office team should check at least and to agree that cleanliness & hygiene should not be compromised. Perhaps they don't care at all. Just earn salary and that would be all. No hospitality ethics value .The hotel slogan of EVERY ROOM A HOME is indeed wrong. Because no one wanted to have a home like this disgusting! This is suppose to be a good hotel and the stakeholders or investors should know how bad the condition is.

We called RECEPTION to ask for FORKS because we wanted to have dinner. We were informed by RECEPTION that they had NO FORKS as the restaurants (the ones located on the hotel’s premises) were closed. THE ENTIRE HOTEL ROYAL HAS NO FORKS?! My inner skeptic was unable to accept this response from the RECEPTION, so we personally went down to the restaurant to confirm this. Upon arriving at restaurant, before our eyes was a fully lit restaurant with several patrons seated therein. The front desk of the restaurant was also manned. We approached said front desk to request for FORKS and as expected, were provided with the same. Please do not be alarmed. THE HOTEL ROYAL HAS FORKS AND YOU CAN OBTAIN IT IN PERSON AT THE RESTAURANT. It’s just that the RECEPTION gives NO FORKS (literally and metaphorically) about customer service as long as it requires them to do extra leg work to bring it to your room. Half an hour after the “NO FORKS” incident, we decided to give the RECEPTION a chance at redemption. We called RECEPTION to ask for ICE. Once again we were informed by RECEPTION that the restaurant was closed (an excuse that had been so frequently repeated to us like a “get out of work” mantra) and therefore, there was no ICE in the WHOLE HOTEL “NO FORKS GIVEN” ROYAL. At this point, this same response by RECEPTION was a slap in the face as much as an insult to our intelligence. We had just got the FORKS in person at the restaurant not long ago. Reading between the lines, we understood that RECEPTION has no intention at all of bringing anything up to our room. Like a well trained canine, we made our way to the restaurant. Lo and behold, the restaurant’s front desk was manned and we got our ICE. The last straw on the camel’s back was when we got the ICE, the restaurant front desk asked us WHY THE FORK ARE WE PERSONALLY COMING DOWN and WHY NOT JUST CALL THE RECEPTION AND GET THEM TO BRING IT UP. Seriously, if the RECEPTION IS GOING TO KEEP LYING EVEN AFTER BEING CAUGHT AT LEAST GET THE RESTAURANT TO SING THE SAME TUNE. When confronted, the RECEPTION lady gave a shocked face that we were managed to obtain these items from the restaurant in person. Come on lady, it’s not your first day (correct me if I’m wrong) working here. Why act shocked when it’s clear as day that the restaurant (located a stone’s throw away from the reception) is open and you’re just lazy as FORK. So there you go, HOTEL “NO FORK NO ICE” ROYAL is a myth busted by us. It is in fact HOTEL “FORKING GET IT YOURSELF” ROYAL.

Booked this hotel for a staycation. Check in was smooth and I was served by Alice. True to all the reviews, her service was impeccable. Offered an upgrade of my booking and was friendly and serves with a smile on her face. You can just sense her passion at work. The Suite was huge with a king bed and a separate living area. Bathroom with separate shower and bath. 2 TVs in room. I had a great stay. Thank you Alice and Hotel Royal.

When I first step in, the room was flooded..with pool of water, it was horrific, try to call the reception, they took nearly an hour to fix this...I can’t believe this happened in Singapore hotel🤦‍♀️...this is worst hotel than batam and Jb, things got worst when the swimming pool was under maintenance, so upsetting coz the staff had not even told us, without delay, we pack our luggage and left to other hotel. The manager assured to refund back our money 💰, but till now it’s nothing credit back to my bank account. Please avoid this hotel.
