The room was small and average. Toilets are not really that clean, needs some improvement. Location wise it is good as it is situated not really that far from the check point of Ijen Crater. We got the room in front of the pool. There's also a hot spring pool there. The restaurant is also lack of quality. They only... More

This hotel was horrible, easily the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. Having traveled in over 35 countries this is quite the statement. There was actually a poo in my bathtub. The toilet seat was made the same year the building was 1835. The building itself was an old home which could have been beautiful had it... More

The room is small and the toilet is extremely dirty. With dirt all over. Avoid this place. You can't have a good night sleep here. Nothing provided in the room except toilet tissue. The towel is dirty too. Nothing is clean.

We stayed in Catimore as part of a package from Jogja to Bromo and then Ijen crater. There are only a couple of places that you can stay near Ijen but if you can avoid this one I would. The hotel was filthy. I was pretty sure that our bed sheets had not been changed and the room had most... More

This was definatly the worst hotel of our entire trip around Java and Bali. The hotel was part of a 2 night package, organised in Jogyakarta, to Mount Bromo, Ijen and on to Bali. On first impressions it looked pretty and quant but the rooms were very poor. The walls were so thin we could hear every word spoken next... More

If you are going to Ijen volcano with organized tour - you have no chance to miss this hotel. It’s built on the base of old Dutch coffee plantator house. The rooms are terrible, but you can get some beer and simple food (noodles or rice actually) in restaurant and take a hot bath in natural springs. The pool is... More

Other reviewers have referred to the heritage of this hotel and, on first appearance, it does seem to have a faded glory. But staying here is a differerent matter. We stayed in the "best" rooms. While they were large and had their own bathrooms, they were also very dirty and crawling with ants and other insects. A host of long... More

The guest house was built in 1894 for visitors to the coffee plantation. It is an impressive building at the centre of the coffee processing complex. Sadly it has not been maintained. What is inexcusable is that it is dirty, the decrepitude is acceptable. It was so dirty I would not recommend staying here. You have to order the set... More

Catimore Homestay is a 100 year old former Dutch homestead located in the Kebun Balawan coffee plantation somewhere in the Ijen Plateau. The homestay is surrounded by miles & miles of Arabica & Robusta coffee groves. The homestead is inevitably the centre of life as well as curiosity for the surrounding dwellings which house the coffee plantations migrant workers &... More

We took the package to Kawah Ijen from Bromo. This one night stay at the Catimore is inclusive in the package. The homestay is located within a coffee plantation. The room is very basic and small. It consists of a double bed with a mere white sheet covered over and a thin blanket. The weather there is very cooling around... More
