Stayed here for a conference recently. It seems it caters for chinese tour groups and corporates so does lack some charm and the service at the various outlets is pretty basic. The hotel is very big, with very nice gardens and landscaping. The lobby is grand, with architecture that will impress anyone. We had comfortable stay here, and will return in the future. Gold Coast is an older hotel.  Needs an upgrade like room and heated swimming pool.  Good children's facilities.  Rooms are clean. Have reasonable selection of restaurants. Everything you'd expect from a business/upscale tourist hotel with beautiful pool, good food, spacious rooms etcetera. Only downside is location, but extremely cheap London-style double-deckers run frequently from main road nearby, moving you around town and providing nice views to boot.

The place is too far from main HK and even though they have a shuttle service, it's charged for. The rooms are decent size and clean. The staff needs to be polite and courteous which they are not right now.
