Chung King mansion is an experience in itself and doesn't have the best reputation, but if you need a budget option in HK and the Y is full, this is probably your next best bet. Riding the elevator is a little annoying, but rooms at Kyoto are reasonably priced, albeit extremely small, and the staff is very friendly and helpful....
