Pros - Good location, a short walk to Tiananmen square and metro train station - Love the courtyard, it looked lovely in the snow - Very helpful staff - Rooms were small but clean Cons - The cat lurking around has a habit to meow loudly outside the door in the early hours of the morning, and may try to... Location: Good location. A street away from QianMen Pedestrian Street where there are shops, restaurant (the famous Quan Ju De is there too!), H&M, Uniqlo, SDeer (this is a Chinese brand from Suzhou and i love their dresses) and many small souvenir shops.. Lots of small shops and local eateries in MeiShi street where the hostel is. You will be... More

The location is as good as it gets in Beijing, walking distance to key sights and 5 minutes from the central subway line. Additionally, the other travelers provide diverse and entertaining company. That said, this is not a hotel, it is a budget hostel, people expecting hotel level service and rooms for $10USD/night/person are expecting too much. The dorm rooms... More

while this hostel was a bit pricy for what it offered accommodation wise, the location was perfect. easy access to the subway on the fringes of tianamen square. the rooms seemed a bit old and scruffy looking and the prices weren't exactly the best. it seems like accommodation in this part of the city is hard to come by, especially... We stayed at this hostel for five nights in July this year and it was by far our favourite home from home during our trip! Environment / Room: The hostel is situated in a lovely traditional courtyard building and it's location is extremely convenient for visiting Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City besides being only a short walk away from... Stayed here for three nights in mid July. The courtyard setting is a beautiful reminder of Qing dynasty China. Great location as well, a quick 15 minutes from the forbidden city, five from the train station, line two. With that said, my group of three were forced to move rooms a total of twice over our stay of only three... More

We stayed here after moving from an awful hotel and we loved it, the staff were really kind and helpful and even came to check if I ate egg after I ordered something vegetarian. The air con is great in the summer and the rooms are clean with comfy beds, I am sure all the other reviews have mentioned that... More

We stayed here for 9 nights and this place started to really wear us down after about the 4th night. In the beginning we were charmed by the inner courtyard, prime location just south of Tiananmen Square, English-speaking staff, and free wifi in the lobby and rooms. But the very, very basic room and lack of good air-conditioning got old... More

We stayed here in September for four nights. We booked a private room w/ bathroom. Our room was small, but clean and adequate for our expectations. If you're a backpacker who values the cultural experience over amenities like we were, then you'll love this place. The cafe served good food and the atmosphere of the hostel itself was awesome. Located... More

the staff here went above and beyond. very good value for money. we stayed out of season so it was very quiet but i could imagine in the peak of summer it being very vibrant. the staff will give u good advise on where to eat and where to go. also they have a really big breakfast menu, which is...
