We got to this hotel by accident, as our reservation at another place was cancelled. Luckily King's Joy had a room available (crazy number of people come to Beijing during holidays). The place is located in a Hutong area, which is a typical Beijing neighbourhood with traditional grey buildings. Lots of shops, cafes, bistros and hostels there. 10 minutes walk... More

I give it 2.5. Booked one night and all was good. Left for a night, then rebooked for three more nights- it all went downhill upon our return. The room we were shown (3rd floor) had dirty shoe marks on the walls and smelled like the inside of an ashtray. We asked to move and were told there were no... More

I booked Superior Twin room. The bathroom is TRANSPARANT, so you can pretty much see what's ur room mate doing inside. The room itself is ok, not too big and not too small, pretty clean. The hotel provides all the basic amenities, e.g. toothbrush, shampoo, shower gel, room sandals. There's no free water bottle, but they provide electric water kettle.... More

A nice budget hotel in an excellent location. The facility is clean and safe. It serves as a good base for exploring Beijing. The food at breakfast is tolerable, but avoid the restaurant for there are far too many better choices nearby. Bring ear plugs as the walls are rather thin and the doors slam shut. Do not expect a... Kings Joy Hotel offers fantastic value at beds in dorms from only £3 a night. What you get in retirn is a comfortable bed, a bar, cheap breakfast and an excellent location. Just five to ten minutes from Tianamen Square many major sites are in walking distance and there is a subway line just up the road. The rooms could... More

This is an excellent place to stay in Beijing and it was so convenient. It was right in the heart of Qi an Men and was within 10 minutes walking distance to Tienanmen square and the forbidden city. Its also close to the subway station. The price was also considerably cheap costing £25/$39 for four nights, for two people. We... More

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel in a room. Clean and beds very comfortable. Very convenient location, 5 minutes to the Qian Men station, and 1 min from the Qian Men shopping street. Be sure to visit the bar located on opposed street, name like "88", cheap and authentic.

Stayed in a 4 bed room, was a lot better than expected (wasn't expecting too much, since the rate was extremely cheap). Very convenient location, 5 minutes to the Qian Men station, and 1 min from the Qian Men shopping street. All the staffs were pretty friendly and very helpful! My only complain is that wi-fi only available on the... More

I loved this place, an amazing rooftop bar and chill area. Rooms were spectacular. Perfect location and an extremely low price. Could not have stumbled across a better place.

This hotel / hostel has a very convenient location, it's about 10-15 minute walk from Tiananmen Square. The equipment and service in the hostel are very good for the price and the rooms are clean. The only problem is that sometimes the staff at the reception desk has trouble speaking English and is not really willing to help people beyond... More
