This hotel is located in a secluded alley of hutongs in Beijing, very close to the Metro .It has been beautifully renovated a few years ago and is really quiet.the rooms are quite big and most of them have nice windows with wonderful trees in front. It is very clean and has nice bathrooms. The best room are on the second floor,with... More

Slightly overpriced hotel, but nevertheless very popular for a good reason: service level, clean rooms and great traditonal atmosphere. The hotel is located near the drum tower and Beihai park. There is a charming porcelain shop next door to the hotel, selling good quality tea mugs, cups and pots at 10% of the rates of the highstreet shops or the... More

We stayed here for 7 nights and booked a standard suite since it got a very good feed back and nice picture of the garden, BUT we were fooled by these things. Since we booked via agoda there is no chance to change room since you already checked in. We complained to the reception but they said that all suit... More

This is a lovely friendly place to stay in Beijing. It's located in one of the many hutongs in Xichen within easy reach of the subway and 15 mins walk from the Bell and Drum Towers. I travelled to China to meet my niece and we both stayed in the Bamboo Gardens. The room was set in a lovely garden... More

It is a just 3 star hotel. It is expensive considering what you can be served. For someone who visit Beijing first, it may look like beautiful hotel with garden. But for someoe who visit Beijing frequently, it is whole kitsch. Full of useless furniture. The staffs are unfrendly. The don't say hello or say 'ni hao'. Especially the girl... More

I stayed for the weekend at Bamboo Garden and highly recommend this to travelers wanting a real Chinese hotel in a traditional Beijing neighborhood. The hotel is a short walk from the Guoloudajie (Drum Tower) subway stop and less than 15 minutes walk from the Houhai/Lakes area. Staff are friendly, Wifi worked well, and there is a western breakfast served... More

I booked the Bamboo Garden twice in 2011. First time for touring with with two grown daughters and a granddaughter. Its central location in Beijing is important from a tour standpoint. Second stay was with another adult. Both times, our suite was located on th first floor, facing the hutong alley. It was perfectly acceptable to us, as we spent... More

I stayed here for a couple nights at the end of a trip in China. The location is very good; a short walk from the subway, nearby the Bell and Drum tower and shops and restaurants, and close to the highway to get to the airport or out of the city. The room was very nicely furnished and had a... More

I stayed 4 nights in this hotel. It's north of the Forbidden city near the Guloudaije subway station (5 min walk). Although it's in the middle in the capital, the place is very quite. I got room 104, wich was great. It was clean, extra weather service, newspaper, local calling for free, private Pc in the room and Wifi. Though... More
