We stayed there recently and really liked that our travel agent had recommended this hotel. It was an excellent location and a very good price. The breakfast is basic but very cheap and so worth the price you pay. The rooms are small but clean and practical. The only problem we had was that it was extremely cold and we... More

Access is strange, via an alley way. This is normal design for hotels in the very old neighborhoods in Beijing. Taxi's can't drive up to the front door, but the walk is not long, and is well lit at night. Most of the rooms (standard) are small and spartan, with twin beds and bath facilities that need a clean up... More

I really wanted to like this hotel. It is a lovely traditional Chinese hotel tucked away in a well located hutong (which means a taxi driver would never be able to find it). Our room was Chinese style and gorgeous and the hotel staff was helpful and spoke good English but we had some problems. Firstly, the hotel is on... More

Just off nan lu gu zong and near drum tower - great location. Nice rooms especially rooms like 601 with bath and shower. Mercy on the front desk was so helpful - the men not so much ! Some beds a bit hard but as we left there was a delivery of mattresses !

We booked two traditional room a's. Once we arrived we were shown a choice of rooms, as all the rooms are different. We were shown room 123 on the ground floor, we were told that this was the only room with two beds, so we took it and room 508. Room 123 has no windows, but was nice, set with... More

Loved our stay here, 2 of us and a 4 year old. Room (507) was great, loved the teapots and tea set and the traditional style bed. 4 year old thought her traditional bed was fabulous too, didn't want to get out of it at times! Love the hotel cat, rabbits, birds and fish, needless to say, as did the... More

Yes the lobby is very traditional Chinese, lovely decorated beatiful furniture and stuff, BUT the rooms are also traditional hutong hotel style. The rooms are ok size but try to get a room as high as possible if you want some kind of view. Traditionally they build a building and don't take care of it therefore it decays over time.... More

this place was just ok, I loved the location as there are a lots of great shops and restaunts near by, but the rooms were just adequate. I booked a tradional room and the bed was terible for two adults to sleep in as it was tiny. There was no window, hence no view. The lobby is lovely but who... More

We arrived from the airport in the morning and the taxi driver pulled over about 300 meters from the actual entry; it is in a Hutong, one of Beijing's numerous narrow alleys, and the taxi alledgedly could not get in, although we eventually witnessed how loads of all sorts of vehicles managed to make their way through. Thus, we had... More
