great staff, clean rooms, perfect location (especially with the rooftop terrace overlooking the forbidden city). would definitely stay there again!

Didn't stay, but could have happily lived in the rooftop bar. Beautiful place to drink over-priced cocktails and Heinekens on a balmy Beijing night. Bloody hard to find though; and hell to find a taxi afterwards to get home; so maybe it's worth just checking in .

Stayed here with my wife for 3 nights and this hotel exceeded our expectations. The restaurant experience was also excellent. I would suggest if anyone is a boutique hotel traveller, do check-in to The Emperor on your list of hotels to stay in.

You would not expect to find such an excellent hotel when you drive the last few hundred meters towards it. Located next to the Forbidden City and 1 block away from Wangfujeng Street this is a perfect location and the price is a very good value. Breakfast was superb and the rooftop lounge was a great place to hang out.
