Following another disappointing hotel experience in Malindi (the second time we were put in a hotel we did not book) we decided to treat ourselves to a trip to the Masai Mara. I am so glad we did. What a great place Governor's Camp is. Placed at a bend in the river and open to the wildlife (don't worry, they... More

There is nothing bad you can say about this place!! It says i stayed in Sept 2011, but it was Sept 2010. I also hit 5 star for Fitness Centre by accident, there isn't one. The experience they provide is simply mind blowing. It has taken us 2 years to be able to talk about this holiday without getting a... More

We visited the Mara on a 3 day Safari in November! We had an amazing driver called keoch who knew where and when to take us, we went off the beaten track and well away from the hustle and bustle of the other jeeps. We spotted 4 of the big 5 just missing the illusive Leopard. The food at Governors... More

We visited Governor's Camp for 3 nights 27th 28th 29th April to celebrate a special anniversary. Not expecting much as it had been raining heavily we were amazed at the skill of our driver and the vehicle which enabled us to get close up to the game and eye contact with lions. We saw everything except the elusive leopard and... More

My husband and I visited Governor's Camp as part of our honeymoon. We stayed for 4 nights from the 2nd April 2012. It's fair to say that our trip of a lifetime began on the tiny plane carrying us from Wilson Airport into the Masai Mara. This comes highly recommended, as we were on the ground, amongst the animals, within... More

We have recently returned from four fabulous nights at this amazing tented camp. Although the tented accommodation is luxurious but still feel part of the African bush and not a invading species. There are night time guards (Askari's) watching the tents which kept us safe whilst elephants and hippos ate at our veranda. The game drives were spectacular - seeing... More

We had been to Governors for three days in September 2010, on returning February 2012 we wondered if the second visit may have been a disappointment as we had such a wonderful time the first visit. No need to have had doubts, the second visit was for five days and the experience was even more rewarding. Going in February there... More

I have been on photo safaris to Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Botswana, with this being my favorite place to stay, although this was just my third time here. The tents are roomy and comfortable (most look right on the Mara River where crocs and hippos are in evidence most of the time). Although it is located in the... More

We held our wedding here in 2007. It was the best holiday I have ever had. I know I am biased as it was our wedding and hubbies 40th but it was just perfect. The staff were amazing. They moved us to the private camp as there was 10 in our party which just made the holiday. Brilliant tents ,... More
