We stayed here as part of an organised safari by F Kings Safaris company. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our beautiful room which overlooked the river. The room was very clean, tastefully decorated and treated well for bugs (there weren't any). The room had an ensuite shower which was clean and well maintained. We felt that... More

I went to the Masai Mara in March 2012, and staying at the Mara Simba was the best decision! It is just outside the national park with this river running on the edge of the hotel with hippos and crocodiles and monkeys reminding you of the fact that you're indeed in the middle of the jungle but ensconced in a... My sister and I began the 'trip of a lifetime', flying from Nairobi Wilson Airport to the Masai. We were met by Jeffrey and Francis, driver and guide, and as we had managed to get an early flight, immediately set off on a game drive (it would have been good if there had been water in the vehicle). Upon arriving... More

The lodge sits on an amazing location, but they have failed to turn it into a quality safari lodge. Firstly, the food is terrible. It is painful being stuck on safari with lousy food. The rooms are so dated and badly maintained. The towels are ripping, the pillows are very thin (we had to ask for extra pillows to sleep... More

After a very poor night at The Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge, we arrived here (sister lodge) with trepidation. The welcome was superb, room excellent and staff very friendly. The food was far superior to our previous lodge and to have meals overlooking wildlife at a watering hole is an experience never to be forgotten. A superb base for Masai Mara... More

We have stayed at the Mara Simba Lodge on a number of occasions. We have also stayed in lots of others like Serena, Intrepids etc. The Simba is well situated just outside the Mara park fence and therefore the price is realistic.Within seconds you are in the park and can cross the entire reserve. The lodge borders a river where... More

We stayed here on the last 2 nights of our 7 day safari. I cannot say enough how lovely this lodge was and how wonderful the staff were. We went in low season so there were more staff than guests but they couldnt do enough for you. Sitting in the dining room and watching hippos in the river was just... More

In October 2011 i booked through African Journeys for a safari in Kenya. Their customer service had its high and low points. For one thing, we never received our itinerary until we asked for it days before departure. (we booked in May for October departure) For another, we had no choice but to be bumped a week before departure for... More

This is by far the best lodge of our safari. Located just outside the Mara gate. I was a bit apprehensive as it was outside, but frankly it doesn't matter. There is a small river by the lodge, which you can view from bar and restaurant area. Saw few hippos and crocodile in that river. The rooms are very charming,... More

This was our fifth visit to Kenya; the holiday was arranged by REAL AFRICA an excellent company full marks to them for organising such a fantastic holiday. The local agent this company use are Albatross they like wise were brilliant, especially our driver Francis. We flew from Wilson airport to the Mara; we have previously travelled by road, if it...
