We arrived in Nairobi with high expectations for Oldarpoi Mara camp, since we had read so many positive things about the camp on TripAdvisor. The camp turned out to be even better than we had imagined. Friday morning Mr. Nelson picked us up at Nairobi airport and drove us up to Masai Mara. After about 5-6 hours we arrived at... More

Our adventure started at Nairobi Airport, where Mr Nelson picked us up. It is a 5 hour drive from the airport to Oldarpoi Mara Camp, and we had a few stops along the way, for sightseeing and dinner. As we arrived at the camp, it was already late, but the crew was all lined up waiting for us with exactly... More

The rooms are great, tents are comfortable and hosts are good. Nelson and his team are friendly. Location is great, very near to the gate. Overall, you can really enjoy your stay here. However, our stay could have been better, we had many instances, which obviously disappointed us, given all the great reviews. First night, our shower broke down, there... More

Our five days with Nelson and the crew at Oldarpoi...two travel days and three game drive days...were just what we were looking for: great people, learning about not only animals but the people who have lived here for millennia, and expert safari guides who went out of their way to help us see everything we came looking for. This is... More

This is a basic comfortable tent camp with good simple meals. Staff is friendly and outgoing. Game drives were excellent and we saw an abundance of wildlife. It felt good to stay at a camp that gives back to the community.

A custom tour where we were picked up at Nairobi, driven to Lakes Nakuru and Navaisha and then to Oldarpoi for our safari then back to Nairobi in a van (not 4wd) that just kept on going. Nelson and his staff were great, things just happened - it was all made to be pretty easy. Sound infrastructure that gave us... More

This is a simple tented camp with beds, basic en suites and home cooking. It is great value for money especially with your own itinerary and private game drives and activities. (We saw many animals in the reserve including a rhino, cheetahs and daily sightings of lions.) What makes Oldarpoi something special is that it is an authentic experience which... More

We stayed three nights in this camp on our way back from safari in Masai Mara. Maybe we were a bit over-expecting due to the widely acclaimed praise that this camp got on Tripadvisor. Even though our experience was not negative, I still would like to clarify a few points: - Nelson communicated very well (quick and relevant answers) prior... More

I would like to put the record straight in as far as this particular review is concerned. First, I would like to apologize to our valued guest for a not so satisfactory experience while staying in the camp. We noted the many compliments by the guest such as timely responses to inquiries by email, well behaved staff, abundant hot showers... More

We had a wonderful 4 day/3 night safari at Oldarpoi Mara Camp over Christmas and would highly recommend it. All of the camp employees were so kind and welcoming. Our whole family felt perfectly safe and comfortable during our stay. We had amazing game drives in the Masai Mara. We saw so many beautiful animals and it was such a... More

We booked 3 day, 2 night stay here- Nelson picked us up from the airport and we immediately started our safari adventures there (passing by the rift valley overlook- the most breath-taking view of the kenyan valley landscape), making it to camp by early afternoon. The staff were all locals and extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable of the masai people... More
