After 1 night at another hotel, we moved over to the Palace hotel. Thankfully these rooms had air conditioning as it was SO hot in Lamu when we were there. Far too expensive compared to the lovely hotels 2 kilometres away in Shela, like Kijani House which is cheaper and far beautifully decorated. They insist on charging 5% for Amex and Visa. Rooms are boxy with just enough room to move round the double bed. No hot water. The food was also expensive and not very tasty.

Good for one night stay but over priced for what it is. The front of house staff were friendly and the free city tour was well worth doing.

Couldn't ask for more professional .helpful staff. Always pleasant . Facility needs refurbishing . I have nothing to compare as far as other Lamu hotels but if the owner would spend some money on this hotel , he/she would have a charming hotel.

Small but nice. Rooms were moderate, clean and pretty. Nice little fresh pool. The roof-top is sensationel with the fresh-breeze and one of the few places where they serve alcohol.
