We stayed here in April 2012 for 4 nights. It is located within walking distance of the Giraffe Centre in Langata, and just 10-15 minutes from the National Park and the Elephant Orphanage in one direction, and Karen in the other direction. The is a feeling of old Africa about the place. Lots of dark wood, and comfy chairs. Our... More

I stayed at Macushla House for a total of 6 days and nights. Three when I first flew into Nairobi and three again coming back from Voi, Tsavo East National Park. This beautiful little guest house was recommended to me by several people and they were so right! My trip was to see my foster elephants from the David Sheldrick... More

Stayed here some time ago now but was the pick of the bunch of hotels/guest houses I stayed in while on a business trip to Nairobi. The 'downside' of this hotel is that it's a little out of the way being in the suburbs. But after a hectic few days in Nairobi and Lake Naivasha that was a bonus for... More

We stayed at Macushla House the night before our early morning flight back to Heathrow. We had a very nice evening meal, after some gin and tonics in the bar (they have three different types of gin, which is important). I asked if I could have porridge for breakfast at 5am - this was duly organised and eagerly consumed. The... More

We stayed here after a 13 hour flight. Taxi found it a bit hard to find but a friendly local led us there. First impression was wow we scored! Beautiful house with amazing decor. Fresh flowers everywhere, incredible original art, very friendly staff and fantastic value for money. Do yourself a favor and stay there. Bit of a hassle getting... More

Used this hotel in Nairobi and loved it .Small and intimate and close to all sites near the Karen district. Highly recommend this. I found out about this place from Gamewatchers USA office- with Julie's assistance, I was able to put together a private tour of Kenya and Tanzania which exceeded all my expectations.

Where to start, this is a family run bed & breakfast/small guesthouse/hotel. The decor is "pre WW2 Kenyan safari". It is both charming and dated. The dark wood looks dreary during the day but comes to light at night. The rooms are a similar mix of "dated" and "modern". The bathrooms appear to have had a makeover, however, the bedroom... More

It has been many years now since I first discovered Macushla House and I have stayed there on at least 5 different occasions. It feels like a comfortable chair where you can sink in and relax, either before your safari or to catch your breath before going home. I have stayed in all the rooms in the main house, but... More

We stayed at Macushla house for 1 night at the end of our safari (booked based on trip advisor reviews). Since we are a family of four, I expected to have to book to rooms. However they offered us a 2 bedroom house (Fadhili house) for only $210, so I reserved that instead. The house was stunning and, upon seeing... More
