Our family arrived by night train from Luxor (Much to be recomended btw!). We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel but in the end we made our way down a small alley, into a courtyard and up an old metal elevator. Not the place you you wander into looking for a hotel! But, at the top of the... More

The Talisman Hotel was in a fantastic downtown spot but taxis do have a really hard time finding it. It’s very boutique, it was the only hotel that I saw that didn’t have a guy standing with a gun and a metal detector at the door. Another nice thing was from the rooms you could barely hear traffic from down... More

This botique hotel is a rare and wonderful find in Cairo - accomodations and service on par with international hotel chains, but with an intimate and local vibe. The location is perfect - right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown, though you would never know it once you get inside the quiet oasis of the hotel.... More

This hotel was adequate for our purposes in Cairo. It was neat and clean. However for the price we paid it was very poor value. We paid less for the Old Winter Palace in Luxor/LTI in Aswan (both wonderful hotels - see my reviews) and the front desk and the tour agency head werent very helpful esp when we didnt... More

This hotel is much more personal than any of the big western chains in town. Of course, it is also much simpler, but the rooms are comfortable enough, each is decorated with taste and you have a lounge and a library that the guests can use. Free wifi is provided. Breakfast could definitely be improved though.

My best friend and I stayed at the Talisman for two nights in April and enjoyed everything about the experience. We had extensively researched hotels here on TripAdvisor before booking, and are very glad we did. As everyone mentions, the hotel is indeed a bit hard to find, and we had to have the taxi go around the block twice... More

I was very pleased with the Talisman hotel, both times I was in it (Room 18 the first time, Room 21 the 2nd a few days later, 21 is a little larger, not so close to the street, and was quieter). While it is a bit difficult to find (it's on the 5th floor of an ancient building, down an... More

Oh the power of photography - but then again, that's why the unprofessionals take "real" photos and upload them here. The photos on the website made it look very new and clean. It wasn't nearly as bad as Longchamps, but I guess I expected more. Regardless, it was nice to come back to after a long day of site seeing.... More

Truly is "de Charme." Close to the Egyptian Museum, good food, and some of the most crazy traffic you can imagine, the Talisman Hotel de Charme was perfect for us. Nice spacious rooms, well appointed and clean. Free use of a computer with internet. Delicious continental breakfast. The manager graciously allowed us to wait in the lounge until our train... More

We stayed in the Talisman Hotel de Charme for 2 nights at the beginning of our Egyptian antiquities family tour. We were met very promptly by arrangement at the airport by a lovely young lady, who became our tour guide the next day for our trip to the Pyramids and Museum. Arrival at the hotel is via a small alley,... More
