I visit Egypt and Cairo on business trips very often. After the "democracy" came to the country, there are no more tourists in Cairo, many hotels are closed or being reconstructed. A friend of mine (an owner of a big 5 stars hotel at pyramids area had to do the same...) recommended me PRESDIDENT hotel in Zamalek. Zamalek is a... More

I was visiting Cairo on business Trip with my friends and we need to attended office in the centre of Cairo, so this hotel is the perfect location as it's on the Zamalak Nile Island. Can be hard to move around at peak times as traffic is busy, but you can walk to everything you need. We did have time... More

The hotel in a decent part of cairo (Zamalek), its easy to go from the hotel to most attractions in cairo , apart from the pyramids and Sakkara, by taxi, there are many nearby restaurants and cafes. The hotel is famus for its pub (the cellar), where you can have a very good food from 12.30 PM till 2AM, beside... More

The President Hotel was an ideal affordable home base for exploring Cairo. My room was clean and comfortable, the staff and management were helpful and responsive. Most amenities not available in the hotel were within a few blocks--the Zamalek neighborhood is very accessible and friendly to a non-Arabic-speaking foreign visitor. I would particularly recommend the driver I hired via the... More

well I have tried this hotel for a couple of times for short visits to Cairo, it is actually a place to sleep at night in a very central location in Cairo and a quiet area also, but every thing is very very basic, you just get what you pay for, and prices compared with other nearby high edge hotels... This hotel was horrible. I have stayed in hostels for less than half the price and had a better experience. When we first got to our room the TV was unplugged and the wires for the plugs were frayed, the shower did not have hot water, and the toilet would not flush. After going down and nicely asking reception to... More

We won a trip from DSTV in Sep 2010, we were so exited and decided to take our kids with as it would be our first trip abroad as a family. The travel agency told us that we are staying at a three star hotel which includes breakfast. When we arrived at the hotel it looked like the place was... More

I made a friendly trip to Cairo with a group of colleagues in Mar-07. One of my friends booked @ the President Hotel. We expected it to be a 4 star, but when we landed we just found that there are 4 golden stars in reception and they showed it and said that they got 4 star certification, haha was... More

hotel president is located in zamalek the nile island in the diplomatic area. so for first: it is to far from the bursting city. second: if you are traveling on your own there are no shops close to the hotel, for a busy street you have to walk about 30 minutes. the staff is friendly, the rooms we had were... In toilet, they dont have a complimentary toiletries. When we ask the bell boy if they have a tooth brush because we forgot to bring one, they didnt know what toothbrush is... More
