I stayed at the Eugenes house in Seoul with my three teenage kids for two nights. We felt very welcomed into this house, the owners was a very nice family!, And if you want to stay the korean way, this is the perfect place! We were SO well taken care of, and it became an experience we will never forget. It was... More

My wife and I are always on the lookout for off-the-beaten-track experiences wherever we travel and Eugene’s Guesthouse has turned out to be a gem of a discovery. We’ve stayed here on two occasions (three days each) and have totally enjoyed our stays as well as our interactions with the owners. Needless to say, they are as friendly and helpful... More

We were a group of 4 adults, 2 couples travelling around Seoul for a week. We booked a cheap guesthouse in Myeongdong for most of our stay but thought we'd treat ourselves to a nicer place for 2 nights so I booked Eugene's House. The man who introduced himself as the male owner asked for payment upfront. We paid and... More

What an amazing experience. My husband and I took our children, and we had rooms RF1 and RF2. Be forewarned. This is not a typical north american hotel. If you have back problems best to find a large chain hotel. BUT, if you're up for adventure and want to enjoy traditional Korean culture, then Eugene's is a gem. Our room... More

We stayed four nights and probably 2 nights would have been a good amount. I wanted to see and sleep in a hanok. We weren't in the main hanok but one a block over. The room was tiny (no big deal) with lots of furniture in it (a bit odd). We had our own bathroom with a washing machine in... More

I recently stayed 3 nights at Eugene's House and would not hesitate to stay again next time I'm in Seoul. The house and antique furnishings were beautiful. It is set just off the beaten track, but within a few minute's walk of a lively student area (Daehangno), which is jam-packed with restaurants, bars, cafes, some shops and lots of small... More

I returned to this guesthouse again (having stayed here last year), same small room, but double mattress, and so welcoming. I was only booked in two nights at the beginning of my stay and one night at the end, as the plan was to visit the DMZ from here for one day then travel elsewhere in Korea. Barely had I... More

This is a traditional Korean guest house, so small rooms and thin mats on the floor to sleep on, but ask for more mats if they are to thin. The house is stuffed full of antiques from Korea and China, and in a quiet area, off the main tourist track but still very close to lots of good eating areas... More

We stayed at Eugene's house for 4 days with our two children of 6 and 8 years. The rooms are small, but that is no problem for most of the time the weather is good enough to stay outside. The people of the house are very friendly and everything is possible. Breakfast with homebaked bread. For trying the Korean way... More

A small traditional Korean house around a pretty courtyard, with really friendly and wonderful owners who made our stay a pleasure. The traditional Korean breakfast was really tasty, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Sleeping is arranged in the traditional way, on futons on the floor. A little difficult to find so make sure you download directions especially if... More
