Stayed here for 1 night at the end of May. This is low season in Myanmar so the hotel was very quiet. It is a lovely old colonial building on a busy corner just outside the centre of town. The staff were super helpful and couldn't do enough to help - organise early wake up call, breakfast in my room,... More

This hotel is not our first pick. However we got a good deal on internet rate so we decided to try. It turned out that it is the most favorite one we like in this trip. Room is very nice and comfortable. All staff is nice and helpful. I definitely like and will be our choice if we visit Yangon... More

We were deciding whether to stay here vs. the Strand or Governor's Residence. We wanted a pool and it's significantly cheaper than Governor's, so we booked at Savoy Hotel. When we arrived, we discovered that the pool was closed for a week. We felt deceived because it's clearly the main feature that they promote on their website, and we had... More

Dear Mr.Hayward, thank you for your response. We always value guest comments and only through these comments can we improve ourselves and be made aware of services or amenities which were missing. Firstly, we apologize for the pool closure, however, the existing deck was becoming dangerously weak and since we do not want our guests to be harmed in any... More

We stayed at this hotel for a total of three nights, one at the beginning of our trip and two at the end. The location was fine for us and the hotel functional and comfortable and the staff pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were quite dated and the lighting poor, however this is a problem that we encountered everywhere we... More

I've never even written a hotel review before, but our experience here was so bad that I felt the need to as a public service! Following check-in, the first room we were taken to had so much MOLD in the bathtub/shower that we asked to be moved to another room. I even took a photo, which I've uploaded, since I... More

Dear StephanieR, thank you for your comments and we are well aware of the issue regarding the mold, however, we are starting our renovations in June this year where we will be completely overhauling ALL bathrooms and rooms. Due to the poor business in the last years, hotels in Yangon were unable to undergo renovations and since the country has... More

Stayed here for one night. Can tell it used to be a nice hotel. Unfortunately, without well ain and management, rooms became seriously damaged and annoying. Location is convinient, bar and lounge is nice. Staff needs to be trained. Better somewhere else if you care about cleanliness and refined ambiance. English is well spoken here. The restaurant next door called Sharky... More

Straight from central casting, the Savoy Hotel is just what you would imagine a colonial Rangoon hotel from 80 years ago to be – slightly spooky, partly faded, just functional enough and very atmospheric. The rooms are large and quiet and the pool area is a great little sanctuary. The staff is generally helpful. Although decent now, the place is... More

Lots of previous reviews explain how the Savoy gives a piece of colonial grandour to the tourist at a more reasonable price that the Strand. I would echo that fact. It is not a modern hotel however is not 'past its best' either. It provides a degree of comfort without being 'stuffy' or over the top. We stayed in 3... More

We stayed here 6 years ago and returned again this year. During our tour of Myanmar we stayed on arrival and on the day before we left and each stay was lovely. They kept our luggage for us while we were away, called taxis and are sure we paid a fair price for our trip and nothing was too much trouble.In... More

We arrived late afternoon in this hotel, we booked for 1 night, knowing also that we had an early flight next day. The hotel is indeed built in colonial style and gives also this impression when checking in, we got a suite, but where a bit disappointed by it, the bathroom could use a revamp and the rest of the...
