The Grand is undergoing renovations, so the venerable Memling is all that is left of "acceptable" properties in this difficult locale. Yes, it underwent a renovaiton a few years back and yes, it is a fine place to stay. The rooms are adequate - along the lines of what one finds at a Holiday Inn in the States. Surprisingly absent... Firstly, Kinshasa is not the kind of place you come for a holiday. There's little to see in the city except life itself which is very interesting of course. I love coming to the DRC but Kinshasa as a city is pretty broken up, pavements are wrecked and it lacks a 'centre' as such. If there was to be a... More

When I used to come to this Hotel, I was always sad, people did not care about customers service at all. But Since Sasha Blank (The current Manager) is in charge every things seems to be really working.Response to issues are quick and efficient. Rooms are clean, bathroom clean, Restaurant nice, Staff polite and professional. Usually DRC hotels are associated... More

The hotel rates itself to be a 5 star, and average room price is 280USD. Allthough the rooms are spacious and clean, they are not 5 but 3 star. Other than that, the hotel is ok, food is nice, they have a beautiful bar and also pool area. Safety is very good as well.

This hotel looked like it was once a very nice hotel, but has got a bit worn and tired looking. The hotel is clean and the food is really average nothing special. The business center was not up to standard with broken printers and poor wifi signal. The staff go from ultra friendly and helpful to rude, I am not... More

In the UK this would be a run-down Premier Inn; in America a tattered Econo Lodge. Yet in Kinshasa, it is the Four Seasons (says a lot about the hotel stock in Kinshasa). But, if you come to the Congolese capital frequently it starts to look "good enough" (says a alot about me, perhaps). Run-down yet clean-ish, the lobby is... More

Stayed at the hotel during a business trip. Very clean rooms and bathroom. The restaurants have good food albeit expensive. The wifi does not work in the rooms unfortunately. Although the pool area is a nice place to have a drink and get work done. The staff speak English and French. Opposite the hotel is a Steers, Debonairs and Milky... More

I believe that one of the main reasons for this hotel's popularity is its security as there are only a handful of hotels which can be considered by Western organisations for this reason. The rooms, common areas and the food are of a reasonable (but not international) standard but charged at very high international prices. As a haven in Kinshasa,... More

The hotel might be old but there is nothing "old" about the Memling standards. It is very refreshing to see a hotel continuously reinvent itself. The setup, rooms, facilities are all of top quality. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. A few minor little details actually show that its not a new hotel but they take nothing away from the... More
