Loloata is about 2 1/2 stars if you are lucky but the ambience makes up for the less than comfortable rooms. If it wasn't for the people that come across for the day trip the place would be even better. The daily invasion of Filipino and Indian construction workers and their families to picnic or just use the facilities makes... More

This is the second time I went to Loloata. I enjoyed our snorkelling and of course the food. Some setbacks were noticed too, as well as the good. - We were provided with not good smelling pillows. The other rooms which were occupied by our friends had good pillows. - The water pressure in our toilet was so low but... More

We stayed here after trekking kokoda. I found the time travelling to the ferry long, but we were tired. The Island was a lovely little get away, saw a magic sunset, enjoyed some wines and had great service. It has basic rooms, but great views- we travelled in 2009 More

Lots of people end up going here because of easy access to Port Moresby, but honestly the diving and snorkelling and general scenery further north are all much better. The resort is all right and the food is decent, they are well organized and experienced and the transfers are efficient, but do not rely on this as your main PNG... More

I stayed at Loloata at the end of a two week dive trip, after staying at Walindi and also doing a trip on the Febrina liveaboard. I booked 3 nights at Loloata with 2 days of diving. Doing this had the added benefit of allowing me to avoid wasting another day in Port Moresby on my way home while letting... More

I stayed at Loloata for a few days in November and had a good time. Pros: - Comfortable spacious rooms - Great meals with lots of food and good variety. Fresh seafood and tropical fruits every day. Lots of effort was made to accommodate specific dietary requirements - Excellent friendly staff that went out of their way to make sure... More

The hotel is apparently great as a diving base but as an idyllic island resort it doesn't do too well on food and service. The rooms had great views overlooking the sea but the beds were not fitted with proper bedding. During most of my stay the water to my room was intermittent during the day as the workers would... A very pleasant island / dive resort close to Port Moresby. Transportation is by minibus and ferry/launch which are both included in the nightly tarriff. It takes about 30-40 minutes to get from the airport to the island. The accommodation is in late colonial 1950's style villas with wide verandahs and wooden polished floors (there is also a newer section).... More

Nice location, friendly service, but for what it offers, it is by far overpriced. It also hosts a lot of mosquitos and no possibility to put up a mosquito net. Still, compared to other locations in Port Moresby, it might still be the best option (all hotels are overpriced there if compared to, say, Indonesia). More

We stayed at Loloata Island Resort for one night, along with our tour group of 15 people. Because of the size of our group, 6 of us were given rooms quite a ways away from the main compound. It was a 7 to 8 minute walk from our rooms to the dining area, which was very inconvenient when something has... More
