We booked two nights in this hostel because of the good reviews. But all the good reviews seem to be written by guests who stayed in the dorm. The double room we booked with booking.com was not worth the money. On that site they say that the room has a private bathroom and that they provide wifi troughout the hostel.... More

great location, friendly (english speakin) staff and cute cat :-) internet is working fine, kitchen for use and nice area to sit, rooms spacious only things that could be better - for the money you pay (i know, Asuncion is a bit more expensive) you should get better mattresses (those are very thin foam mattresses) also a curtain (to shield... For a place with supposedly limited tourism infrastructure, the Black Cat Hostel seems to have hit most of the marks for a good backpacker accomodation. I stayed in the dorm without airconditioning (50 000G) but for 75000 you can choose the cooler option. My dorm had fans and lockers, and my only complaint was the matresses were a bit thin.... More

We (me and my boyfriend are backpacking) and many others use Asuncion as a stopover to reach other destionations in South America. The hostel was one of the better ones in terms of clean, quiet, cozy and a very helpful staff. We stayed both in a dorm and in a private and they were both were good. We were both... More

A great hostel. We had a private room in the attic which was nice but it was above the dorm (18 beds!) so sometimes a bit noisy but no complaints. Had good aircon, clean bathroom with hot showers, nice breakfst included, tv room, small kitchen with one really effective halogen hot plate. Met loads of people and great socialising. Easy... More

I had a private room, so I don't know what the dorm stays are like. The whole place is very clean and the location is perfect. The staff are eager to help. Free wifi and there's also a laptop in the reception area so that you can make Skype calls. More

Good hostel, definitely the place to be while backpacking in Asunción. Although it is quite a noisy hostel and the beds weren't very good (though not the worst I've slept in so far also...), I have had a good stay here. The staff is really friendly and willing to provide you with any information necesary. Breakfast is alright. Only concern... More

Well how can I sum up my time in Asuncion? It has to be a series of highs and utter lows, although please read on!! I got to Asuncion feeling a little under the weather, thinking that it was nothing more than an upset stomach or a result of the lack of sleep or endless partying that had gone before... More

One of the best hostels in South America and definitely the very best place to stay in Paraguay itself. Great location, nice breakfast, helpful friendly bi-lingual owners, air-conditioner, patio, nice clean rooms, and one great dog&cat as a bonus ;-)! More
