We stayed here for three days with our small boy. The atmosphere was fantastic around a beautiful courtyard. Food was good. I recommend old Damascus at the strongest, walking around in two thousand years old street with much life was just amazing! We liked very much this small hotel and will love to come back. We arrived with bus to... More

This is a beautiful courtyard hotel that exudes history and culture. Our room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. The location is great - in the middle of the old city, but quiet as it is a couple of blocks away from the hustle and bustle of Straight Street. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasant.... More

We stayed in 3 different hotels in Damascus. Talsiman had the best courtyard. The arrival at night is absolutely magical. However the rooms lacked a bit the atmosphere. Maybe because it is a slightly bigger hotel or maybe because it caters to business as well as leisure. Breakfast was a let done as it was served in a charmless small... More

What a great hotel; gracious staff, super oriental breakfast, spacious rooms, quiet, best fresh orange juice we ever tasted ... after leaving the plane upon a long trip, our anxieties just fell away with this welcome, tranquility and peace.

Can't beat the location in the old medina of Damascus, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with large satellite TV, a king-size bed and free WiFi. The only negatives about the room are that it is a bit dark / un-cozy, and the plumbing a little temperamental. But we felt on... More

We’d had the Talisman Al Ameen recommended as a beautiful cultural hotel restored in an authentic fashion, and we stayed there on our last night in Syria. We’d stayed at the Four Seasons on our first four nights in Syria, and loved it. Although the staff at the Talisman wasn't as warmly professional as the Four Seasons, I think the... More

Beware the Talisman. On July 9, 2010, I reserved a room at the Talisman in Damascus using the online service Skoosh. I received an email confirmation from Skoosh and printed it out. The Voucher detailed a reservation for myself and my wife for Oct 9,10,11 and 12, 2010. I also confirmed this with a followup email to Skoosh. When we... More

We stayed here 2 nights while sightseeing Damascus. Excellent location, walking distance from most sights. Our room was huge and had a wonderful relaxed arabian atmosphere, large tv, a big clean bathroom. The hotel has a charming courtyard with a small pool and it's very pleasant winding down after a hectic city visit. There are only 4 deck chairs, which... More

If you want to take away magical memories of Damascus, this is the place to stay. The courtyard is so peaceful and as darkness falls and the lanterns come on, it just feels amazing. It's the only hotel in the old city to have a pool, too, and a beautiful one at that. The room was just drop dead gorgeous... More
