I stayed at this hotel for two nights as a part of a group of family and friends over Easter 2009. There was a gap of around a week between my two nights here.
The hotel (as with many things in Iran) appears to be stuck in the 70/80s decor-wise. The rooms were a bit on the small side but...

The Simorgh is not a particulraly large hotel but the rooms are comfortable, the service is good and everything works! My bathroom however was very small and the TV had neither CNN or BBC (a broken satellite apparently). There is free internet 24hrs in a business centre on the 1st floor.

I stayed at Tehran's Simorgh Hotel on Valiasr Avenue in June 2005 and can recommend it. It's one of the top end hotels in Tehran, but don't expect a Shangri-La or Sheraton. It's professionally run, business-oriented, clean, well located. The staff speak English and are helpful.
Rooms are good - the one I had was oddly-shaped and looked on to...
