We stayed a few days in Leonardo Basel. The rooms were clean en comfortable and near the beach. The breakfast was nice en varied. The desk staff was very kind. We can take a bike for free.

The building façade isn't a welcoming view, but its interiors make of it almost a boutique hotel. The breakfast is awesome! Its one block away from the beach (my room had a view to the Mediterranean Sea), and a good one.
