Small stylish hotel with awesome rooms overlooking the Bosphorus. It is a little outside on the asian side of Bosphorus, giving you peace from the hectic city of Istanbul. Best view ever on the big Bosphorus bridge. There are just a few rooms so do not expect a big lobby or a crowded bar that is open all night. The... More

And that's exactly what you get from every room and suite at this sophisticated boutique hotel. It is a peaceful haven away from the bustle of the city, and yet only a blissful (scheduled, complimentary) boatride away from the hotel jetty. The staff were excellent. We arrived around midnight and were greeted with smiles, drinks and a warm welcome. Breakfasting... More

I hesitate to recommend this hotel because it's small (20 rooms) and recommendations will just encourage more bookings so that next time we may not get in! Wonderful location right on the Bosphorus. Asian side which means using the hotel's free shuttle launch to get across to the city each day. Apart from the grumpy boat pilot (more amusing than... More

This hotel makes for an experience by itself - it gives an Instabul visit a different flavor. The reason is that all rooms are facing the Bosporus, from very close - you will want to stay in the room and watch the boats pass by. Overall the room and common areas are modern and well designed. Location is a big... More

I always stay in a big five start hotels whenever I travel but Sumohan is different I really felt the warmth, I felt like if I was at my own home I mean first the views from the rooms were extremely thrilling to the eyes. I stayed in two different bedrooms first the loft suite which was very unique in... More

Everything has been said about how amazing this place is really, can't add much more. The location is fantastic for relaxation and lounging by the Bosphorus. The breakfast is great if a little overwhelming! If your trip to Istanbul is for sight seeing in the city centre, I would say stay somewhere cheaper and more central for your first few... More

So many good reviews, little left to say. But they deserve it. Excellent, friendly staff from the minute you walk in, you know its a very nice place. As others have sdaid, its not the best location for sightseeing if you think sightseeing is about famous monuments, rather than people and places. We took the morning ferry which the hotel... More

My husband and I spent a second honeymoon at the Sumahan. We are world travelers, global citizens. As I write, we have traveled to over 60 countries for work and travel. Our week at the Sumahan was one of the most delightful times we have ever experienced. Our room was relaxing and wonderful. The view spectacular. The restaurant at the... More

We have been to Sumahan once just after our wedding for honeymoon. Arrived at the hotel around midnight wearing our wedding dresses, and went to our room directly. Rooms & the hotel was really nice, clean. Also the view was one of the best in the world. On the other hand they knew that we were there for our honeymoon,... More

I have stayed in many boutique hotels round the world, but Sumahan exceeds all the other ones by miles. This hotel is a very special place on the Bosphorous with amazing views. I have since stayed here many times, the service is outstanding and the staff are very helpful and they go out of their way to satisfy you, i.e... More
