My friend and I stayed here for one night because we wanted to try out the Taksim area of Istanbul. We didn't like the area as it was just a big city and full of people, much more that the old town. We felt the old town had more of a vibe to it and liked it much much better.... More

We booked two single rooms with chillout, for 5 nights from NYEve, only to be told 10 days later that they were overbooked and could no longer offer us the single rooms. This was very annoying as most other places are now booked. Why say you have rooms available if you havent? Come on Chillout, its not difficult - you... More

We had a double room for a week. It was pretty hot ( 30 degrees at night), but after the first night ventilators were installed and that was a releive. Don't expect to much for this kind a money, you have a bed to sleep and a shower, that's it. And the people are so kind and helpfull, just ask... More

Nice friendly staff and good atmosphere. I stayed in a dorm room. it was very small with hardly any space for rucksack even. Quite warm inside room with no air con and quite noisy, I think from the outside and had to have the window open as it was so hot. there were 4 of us in a room which... More

Aside from the price and location, this place was awful. It's obvious no one associated with the place cares at all about creating a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The rooms were stuffy, hot, and barely big enough to open the doors in. The lighting on the staircases was terrible (borderline dangerous), there is absolutely no atmosphere, and the staff is not... I booked a double room at Chillout hostel for 9 nights because I had to attend some courses in Istanbul University. The price was really good: a double room with bathroom in the corridor for only 26€ per night (13€ person/night). You also have a free wi-fi ocnnection. And these are the two only good reasons to stay there. The... More

The location is perfect. Even thought we were big number, and there were other people there we never wait for shower or other stuff. The only thing we were a bit cold, but extra blankets warmed us. No bad things to say!

I don't understand who so many negative reviews, the location is great, the hostel is very nice with a great common area where you can find people also during the night chatting or just drinking something. The rooms are not luxury but for the price are more than ok. The only thing they could improve is the number of bathrooms... More

Fabulous location. I was out most of the day so I didn't care so much about the room. I showered at night, so there was no problem. Sometimes there was a line to use the bathroom. I could only get Internet on the first floor. My room was very small, just enough room to walk beside the bed (I had... More

The staff of the hostel couldn't be bothered to improve the place at all. Not enough bathrooms for the number of guests, and they were always filthy. There was never any toilet paper and the poop smell never left the bathrooms or the shower. The cafe sucked and the place was not "fun." The staff was not particularly friendly and... More
