We arrived very early the first morning because of our flight and were greeted very warmly by the night manager. Our room was not ready (as we had expected) so we were offered some tea and our suitcases were kept safe for us while we went for a stroll. We were amazed to see how well situated this hotel is.... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Sarnic (Sar-nich) is located in the middle of old Istanbul, just blocks from the Blue Mosque and the cistern for which the hotel is named. The staff is so-so on English, but be patient and they will do cartwheels for you. The reviewer who said consider the Premier for the lift was correct: The... More

A very pleasant hotel, well placed for Istanbuls attractions and restaurants. The rooms are a decent size, very clean, staff very helpful, also cheap transfers to Ataturk airport. Would recomend for short stays

I was really looking forward to staying at Sanic Hotel after reading other TripAdvisor reviews. The hotel is a lovely older building and the location was great - so convenient to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and other attractions. The staff are helpful and friendly. I was a little disappointed by the room. The bathroom had broken fixtures and I... More

We had a week in Istanbul and the Sarnic Hotel was absolutely perfect for our needs. Walking distance to all of the sights and easy access to the the tramway for trips further afield. Wonderful staff and a great breakfast. The rooftop bar is a nice place to spend an hour with a nice cold beer after a days walking.Only... More

I stayed in the Sarnic Hotel located in the historic part of Istanbul (Sultanahmet). The hotel is 2 min walk from the Blue Mosque/Haig Sophia near the Arasta Bazzar. The rooms are a bit small and offered a little less privacy. You can literally hear whatever the sound from the next room. The street in the front is quite busy... More

Everything which the hotel says it abides by that. the food was excellent especially the breakfast if you are going to stay for more than one night make sure you have breakfast there it's the best. The location is excellent and the staff was very courteous.

Staying at the Sarnic had a little of magic about it. From the welcoming glass of tea to the only place that took my Discover card to pay the bill, it was a very nice stay. Dinner on the rooftop terrace (using the heaters and the plastic covers, it being early March) with the minarets of the the mosque shining... More

I recently stayed at the Sarnic Hotel. I thought I'd booked a room at the Sarnic Premier, a sister property that's connected to the Sarnic Hotel. The hotels share a lobby and staff, but the rooms in the Sarnic Premier look nicer (my friend was in the Premier). The price was right, and as others have said, the location is... More

Went at the end of February for a long weekend! Simply a great little hotel close to the central attractions, perfect for a couple of days for a city break. You are walking distance to the the main places with a number of restaurants accommodating all the nearby hotels. All the locals speak English unless they don't agree with your... More
