Stay duration : 4 nights Pros : Clean hotel, good breakfast, good spa, very close to the tram station, groceries and small to medium restaurants around. Cons : Very small rooms and bathrooms, pool is partially smelly, staff is not helpful at all, unsafe for women to go out late night around the hotel. We saw men flock all over... More

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel recently and although the hotel was ok we'd probably not stay there again. This was partly due to our experience on our first night there. Despite booking a room with double bed we were shown to a room with 2 single beds and another option of a smaller room with a 3/4 bed.... More

Just a walk away from the tram station, it is not a bad choice for your probably the second visit to Istanbul (since I feel the initial stay has to be in Sultanhamet)! After staying touring the other cities of Turkey, we returned to Istanbul for two more nights before heading back home & stayed at Amethyst. It was a... More

Beds are great, firm mattress and rooms are very clean :) i had a Turkish Hammam foam massage that i highly recommend! Will do it again. The hotel is pretty well located if you don't mind commuting to find good restaurants in Taksim and Galata. The area is not the greatest but easy to move around thanks to the public... More

Everything was very good, hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very good, the only thing I didn't like is that you have to pay for Turkish coffee, if you want to one for breakfast. The hotel is very very clean, pool and spa are perfect, and location of hotel couldn't be better. You can reach... More

First, let’s get the negatives out of the way.... the rooms are small (but very functional...) On the positive side of things this hotel is an undiscovered gem. It’s all about location, location, location and the Amethyst is a stone’s throw from the Metro, Tram and within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Süleymaniye Mosque and the Grand... Stayed for 4 nights with one other adult in the room. We each had a medium size suitcase we could not empty or place out of the way. The room was clean and pleasant but the noise from the tv in the neighbors room was annoying if it was on. The heat was on at all times. You cannot regulate... More

Stayed at this hotel for two nights. Nice room. Only me so roomy enough. Some mixup re my room which they quickly resolved. Room 405. A nice view up the street and across to a small museum. The TV was set behind a glass mirror.Very modern. Shower was good. All the usual toiletries supplied. Bed was kingsize. A little firm... More

My husband & I recently enjoyed a few days staying at the Amethyst. We found it convenient to the tramway, which took us to most of the downtown tourist attractions - Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, the Basilica Cistern as well as the Kabatas and Eminonou ferries and more. The pool is great. Its in a cavern in the basement. Massages... More
