If you're looking to get a feeling of the local population, you will love this hostel. It is situated just minutes away from the city's highlights, and yet it seems hidden in a tourist-free area. Staff is exceptionally friendly - despite the fact that their English is more than broken. You'll also get the best breakfast in town, with loads... More

Piya hostel is very close to all major tourist attractions, 5 minutes walking to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. It is located in a quiet area, where only local people live. Bathrooms are for 2 or 3 rooms. For that price, they offer very good service.

I stayed at a double room with ensuite bathroom and kitchenette. The room was very very basic but quite clean. No towels are offered. Breakfast is basic yet testy. I very much liked the neighbourhood - very close to all major toursit attactions of Sultanahment - but in a very quiet area where locals live. The staff is very helpful.... More

Piya Hostel is located in the SultanAhmet area, yet away from the noise because it is located in a quiet residential area. The staff running the hostel are simply amazing - very helpful and kind. The atmosphere is warm and is really great value for money. The place is also 5 minutes away from the beach on the Sea of... More

Before we came to Istanbul, we made a reservation for one night only and in the morning we started walking around Sultanahmet looking for a nice hostel for a decent price for the rest of our five-day stay. We checked out about 7-8 hostels. In the end, we chose Piya as it was clean, dorms offered more room than in... More

I and my lover stayed at Piya for 2 nights in november. At the beginning it seemed me to a bit nosiy beacuse of the trainstation nearby, but when ı compare it to other hostels in İstanbul, more or less you will experience some noise, and that is normal for a city of 20 million people:) We had a room on the basement... The hostel is small, nice and cozy. A little hard to find at first but if you go to the blue mosque area and ask around for "akbıyık jamii", the directions will lead you pretty close. from the mosque itself (right under a railway bridge) you have to turn right and walk a bit up the street until you see... This hostel is fine if you are after something very basic. We had a double room which would have been OK but it also had a bunk in there which made things extremely cramped. The bathroom was right next door but we were not sure it was the cleanest. Our door would get stuck and you needed to slam it... More

I have traveled and stayed in hostels around the world on many different occasions. I have met very helpful staff members at all of them, and made friends all the same. The Piya Hostel stood out from all these other hostels in that I never felt that the staff was working to make me comfortable and happy because it was... More
