Clean, tidy, huge rooms. Bathroom was clean, shower was ok. The whole guesthouse has wooden floors, which is nice. There is no lift so beware if you are on the 3rd floor it's a long way to walk with bags. The location is fairly central, 5-10mins walk to most of the nice restaurants and the river. We visited the COPE... More

Booked this place because of tripadvisor ratings. Good sized room, decent for the price you're paying...but was not impressed with the staff at this place. They weren't too happy to serve you. Came in after a long bus ride from luang prabang at about 6am and the staff wasn't at all accommodating, asking us immediately to come back at 2pm... More

The Vayakorn Guesthouse is good value for the CBD of Vientiane. The wood floors and furnishings give the inn a nice feel. Antiques are used to decorate the common areas of the hotel, which is a nice touch. The rooms are very large, and the bathrooms are a decent size. The shower isn't directly over the toilet, which is a... More

I stayed at the Vayakorn House for 2 nights. Location is very good. Restaurants, ATM's, sights within walking distance (but really everything is in Vientiane ;) ). The price for a single room was 18 USD without breakfast (no need to eat at the hotel - french bakerys are just down the street) . It was clean, spacious and safe.... More

Arriving at the end of the afternoon, my wife visited about 5 places before settling on this one. Main reasons : clean, good location, parking for the car, decently priced. But be warned : this is not a charming place. It's a functional hotel that does well what we expect from a hotel, but nothing more.

So, I'd spent 16 hours jammed between a large man and a guy who's breath smelled like trench-foot (but he shared his bag of fruit with me so I still feel guilty about this description) on the back-seat of the bus from Luang Prabang. The air-con broke down after a few hours, but not before spewing out plumes acrid black... More

The Vayakorn Guest House is a decent place to stay overall. The location is excellent, the rooms are clean, fairly spacious and have a TV, AC and good wifi connection. The rooms are cleaned daily and it is relatively cheap at around £12 a night for a private room. The one major thing that let's this place down is the... More

The hotel is in a good location being close to restaurants, the river, and sites to visit, all accessible by walking. The room was comfortable, with working wifi (usually) and a few English language channels on the TV. The wood floors are waxed, don't attempt a crossing in socks! The AC worked. The bed was daily comfortable, and there was... More

I stayed here one night on a weekday. The guest house is centrally located within short walking distance of many restaurants, cafes and the riverside. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming, perhaps jaded by the constant stream of foreign travelers staying here. I had to carry a heavy bag three flights of steps to my room. The staircase and... More
