The hotel is located a bit out of the normal tourist area, on an unpaved part of the road overlooking the Mekong River. However, it is a very good hotel. All amenities worked fine, A/C, shower, bathroom, good Wifi connection. The free breakfast that came with the room was more than adequate. Dining room was up on the rooftop terrace... More

Well-located (10 minutes on foot from the main shopping areas), nice terrace to watch the Mekong, friendly people, large rooms with clean bathrooms and hot water, comfortable, breakfast so-so, but what can you ask more for about 25 EUR ? More

The room was incredibly basic and a bit dark. Our room was located on the ground floor at the back of the building. The WiFi had a very poor signal, the tv did not work (not a big deal) and the shower was appalling. There was very little pressure and one morning there was no water at all. I have... More

Seng Tawan is a lovely little establishment with a great frontage onto a dirt road by the Mekong. The staff are helpful and friendly (typical of Laotians), the rooftop restaurant is a great place to start your day with breakfast (we didn’t eat there at night so cannot comment) and the rooms are spacious and clean with lacquered floors and... I stayed at this hotel in Nov 2011 for a period of 3 nights and found this hotel to be just right for short stays. Although this hotel is situated away from the main town, it has a scenic view overlooking the Mekong River. Alongside, you will find several cafe stalls and with a mere 10 mins walk to the... More

We stayed at this hotel for fews nights in June, the room was clean, very big and comfortable, specially balcony with view of Mekong River for breakfast. Location was great, very quiet close the center you can walking. The staff very nice and helpful. We will come back here and recommend my friends for Great small hotel ! More

This hotel is appalling. I booked a suite at $140 pn. Then entrance is acbuilding site with earthworks still going on after 7pm. Safety deposit boxes are not secured. Internet was not working upon arrival & 'business centre' keyboards are so worn you can't read the keys. Phones cut out consistently. Numerous bugs in room. Not sound proof - very... More

Sengtawan Riverside was quite a nice hotel in beautiful Laos. The rooms were on the basic side, but in Vientianne there is a lot of vibrancy so you're not really in the room too much anyway. The restaurant on the balcony offers a beautiful view of the Mekong separating Laos and Thailand, and the staff are incredibly helpful and very... More

Our initial impression of the Sengtawan was really good. Our e-mails were answered promptly and very postively by Mr. Khamphong, the booking procedure was seamless, even when we had to amend our schedule slightly. Our first slight problem came when we landed at Sengtawan airport. Having been assured that we would be met with hotel transport, we had to resort... More
