The hotel claimed to have 4 stars...well where do I start: - before getting to the room you have to go through a maze of corridors to get to your room (the hotel has 3 blocks) - You also have to encounter stairs when you have a suitcase, not great if you are not a fan of carrying heavy things... Very good hotel in this price range. The stuff is adequate and qualified. The rooms are very nice and very clean. One has everything needed in the room (even a kettle and an iron). The only contra is the location far away from the center (although this depends on the purpose of the trip to Astana). All in all a... More

The King Hotel is a typical Western style hotel with all the usual amenities. Pros: English speaking staff Cleanliness Large rooms/suites Good restaurant/cafe Good WiFi in lobby and B-block Guest services will arrange sightseeing tours for you Cons: Located in the old part of the city, need to drive to Astana's sights I couldn't get my room safe to work... Very large rooms that would be suites in most properties. All (I've stayed in three) seem to have the bedroom, lounge area and large bathroom. The bathroom had a very large corner bath and hand held shower. Nice for a long soak but less easy for that quick early morning shower. Rooms have balconies. The restaurant is pedestrian for dinner... More

Huge complex of entrance, halls, directions, but generally very nice place to stay in Astana. I've stayed there on a business trip for 3 days in June 2011. My room had balcony from back side of the buliding where actually you have view on your neighbors. Room is by all western (and Kazakh) standards, big enough with all adds-on (complimentary... More

First I went to Block C. Two lift changes to reach the room and long dark corridor (looked very weird) on the way from one lift to the other on the 1st floor. Very spacious and simple rooms (bedroom and sort of living room with TV, sofa, etc.), relatively low quality of works performed (e.g. socket attached to the bed's... More

Choose this hotel if you fancy the following: - Being left in the cold at the airport on the way in. The ordinary taxi they sent did not hold a sign and apparently left with other clients. The complementary taxi they booked on the way back to the airport was 20 minutes late. - White neon lights in the room... More

Very spacious rooms full of light. A window even in the bathroom. The only weak point is poor internet connection. And also maybe a very long labyrinth-like way to the room from the reception desk, and a very weird system of lifts which stop only at even or only at odd floors. Overslept the breakfast but at lunch tried some... More

Astana was a transit point to my final destination within Kazakhstan, and upon arrival before leaving for a train the next morning I stayed in a fly-by-night type of place that was lacking in comfort, security, and safety. My intent was to tour Astana for a couple days prior to flying out of the country on my way out, so... More

The hotel is rather new, centrally located and bears a proud name. However it's an average and old-fashioned hotel with a tiny lobby, gloomy entrance and poorly designed rooms. I would even say that it looks much more like an ordinary residential building which was once transformed into a hotel. So don't expect any service here. Of course, Astana is... More
