The Hotel Khmer Royal is getting quite old and in need of renovation, but that would increase the price of this very well located and budget hotel - so maybe put the renovations on hold. The location next to the Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC) and many other restaurants and attractions is ideal for anyone staying in Phnom Penh. The hotel... More

Reasonably priced, excellent location fronting the Mekong River. However next door is building in progress and it can be noisy until 20:00 hrs

First night we had a room with river view. What they did not tell us that at 05:00 hrs an aerobic class starts on the boulevard with such loud music that we were unable to sleep anymore. Their response to our comment on this fact was 'it is so for the past 2 years..'. Normally you would check out and... More

A rag tag of a place called a hotel is the best way to describe the Khmer Royal. Yes it is cheap but it comes at a price. For a few dollars more you can do so much better in Phnom Penh. The rooms are shabby with most items broken or not working properly. My air conditioner did not work... More

Ok, so the hotel isn't brand new but it was clean, comfortable and an overall enjoyable experience. The riverside location is very good and the staff couldn't do enough to help us. It took us a while to get used to the fact that we could book everything from our hotel, flights, buses, other accomodation, tours.....this just isn't possible in... More

Yes, Khmer Royal Hotel is located on a strategic area. Mekong River is just right in front of you and from there the sun rises in front of your eyes. The Royal Palace is your neighbor. But, there are many other hotels on the same location, with a more reasonable price. Actually I choose this hotel because I wanted to... More

Ok, so it's not brand-spanking new but this hotel oozes character. The staff are professional an friendly, the riverside view is simply breathtaking and it's perfectly located for all the best sites of Phnom Penn and it's über cool Riverside promenade. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms have a large, deep bath.

I planned to stay at this hotel for three nights. The staff seemed very friendly, the room very spacious and with big windows. The price was definitely ok and even negotiable and came with breakfast incl, which I also thought was ok. You can tell that the hotel has seen better days and is a bit rundown, but the price... Unless you are travelling on the cheap, don't even consider this place. Dirty old rooms, hot water heaters that burst in your room and minimal security (door keys work on multiple rooms). One good thing is the roof top terrace with nice views of the river.
