Great location on this hotel, we got a big family room with balcony with river view. Nothing really to complain about. The hotel is surrounded with great restaurants and nightlife. Will stay again when visiting PP.

We stayed there for 2 nights in late Feb. As others have said, it is pricey for Cambodia ($25 for 2 people), but the omelette with fresh baguette & coffee was good & helped to balance this out. Our room was roomy & nice, & everything worked as intended. Our bed was great. The location was great, being able to... More

We stayed in a double room with no windows. The room was large with a big shower and toilet. The place was clean and has desk and couch and tea table! The room had plenty of plugs and the air con was super! The room was cleaned every day and got fresh towels. The breakfast was really tasty and well... More

This hotel is severely overpriced and horrible! The room was small dingy and smelly, the aircon barely worked and our 'window' open up into the wall of the opposite building. The breakfast, coffee and the service was horrible! My partner and I went shopping on the second night and upon our return the bartender said to me 'dirty girl, handsome... More

Stayed one night, only took the room because some of the other spots along the river looked worse and we were sick of looking. For what you get, the price tag is way too much. Restaurant downtairs can really be missed also. Very nice restaurant right next door, way better in every way. Lock was damaged, aircon couldnt be turned... More

I wish I had taken more notice of some of the other reviews. We booked two rooms for this November, emailed to confirm and 1 week prior to arrival arranged a transfer with the hotel that they advised they now charge for not as the web. All confirmed back ok On arrival no transfer at airport, so made own way... More

Just returned from the hotel in Cambodia and it has changed. Went on a visa trip from HCMC by bus, one of the hotels the bus company offered was the River Star Hotel located on the river front section of Phnom Penh. Tried to make a reservation on my own by internet as I have stayed at this hotel many... More

We stayed here on 2 occasions. On the first occasion we had an excellent room - clean, spacious, comfortable chairs, tv and good beds. On the second occasion, for the same price, the selection wasn't quite so good and we ended up with a room with no window. The room itself, however, was very good. It's just a bit disconcerting... The Hotel is OK - but not better than this. The Staff were helpful and good. The restaurant was fine. The room was clean but needs refurbishing and redecorating. Eg the toilet seat was not attached to the toilet and I nearly injured myself ! Window security not good. Moved to the Paragon - same price after bargaining and better... More

Its often the case when you arrive in Cambodia and pile into a tuktuk that the driver will highly recommend a certain hotel- he's generally getting a commission for doing so, and often as not the place he recommends is- well, a bit rough around the edges. If the driver suggests the RiverStar Hotel though, by all means check it... More
