Having booked this hotel several months ago we have received an email from them just three weeks before our visit demanding a higher rate for our stay. They have infact doubled the rate. Having complained to Lastminute.com they have suspended and withdrawn the Atropat from their website. I know we are not the only people to have experience such a... More

The hotel is located within Old city, very close to all Baku monuments and of course authorities/companies etc. The rooms are very clean and large, however the wifi seems to have serious issues. Breakfast buffet is considered adequate and the overall impression for the personnel is good. In general the hotel doesn't stand even close to the western 5 star... More

A few years back this was probably a very good hotel. It's location in the heart of the Old City is great, but the interior is starting to look tired and dated, the breakfast is fairly basic and the staff whilst friendly don't quite reach international 4* standards. An example, the temperature outside was -4 and the heating inside broke... More

The Atropat is not far from Fountain Square or the attractions of the Old City. The people working there are mostly not very good, being curt, forgetful and somewhat incompetent. The hotel does live up to what it promises from a buffet breakfast to wake up calls. I stayed at the Atropat for two weeks and there was a buffet... More

Temper your expectations that this isn't a 5 star hotel of the four seasons level. But neither is the price and all in all I enjoyed my 2 night stay on business. Good room, great wifi, good location and helpful staff. Breakfast is mediocre but you can't have everything. I'd stay there again quite happily

I really liked this hotel; the rooms are excellent and air conditioned, the staff are extremely helpful, the wireless works and is reasonably fast and the rooftop bar has great views over Baku bay. The Atropat is at the top of the old town, close to the Shirvan Shah palace, but it's a short walk to all the sights.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the walled old city in one of the side streets about 5 mins walk away from the maiden tower. This may be difficult for those who want to use public transport or taxi, luckily a colleague of mine was helping out with driving. I was staying in a standard room, which was... More

My friend and I were backpacking (with hotels) through the Caucasus and stayed in two hotels in Baku. The Atropat was excellent! Globally it's 3.5-4 stars but in Baku I'd say it's 5 stars. The room was a standard size for a European double (two beds). The bathroom was clean and modern, TV was new and had 50 channels. It... More

I had hard time preparing a group business trip to Baku this year and thanks to a coincidence I found this hotel. Right from the booking their approach towards me as a client was extremely good and I was just hoping that everything would be really as good as it was promised. I had never been to Azerbaijan before and... More
