This establishment is in an populous alley/street between Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien streets in the backpacker ghetto of Pham Ngu Lao. It's a great location for Pham Ngu Lao and within a 15-20 min walk to the Ben Thanh market, Reunification Palace, War Remnant museum, golden dragon water puppet theatre, and Ho Chi Minh museum. Ot's also within... More

We stayed here for 2 nights after spending our first night at a guesthouse a few doors up. We met the owner when we arrived off the bus and he was helpful by pointing us in the right direction so when we called to look at the rooms we were delighted! We got a massive room with 2 double beds... More

Stayed 2 nights in HCM, was supposed to stay 3, but my flight was cancelled (arg, Jetstar). Emailed and received reply to say I would be 1 day late, but when I arrived this apparently hadn't been passed on.... The only negative thing about my stay! There was room for me (had to switch rooms the 2nd night), and the... More

Me and my mom stayed at the guesthouse for one night only, but we were very pleasently surprised, mostly about the big beds and the balcony for only ten dollar per person/night. The best part however was the whole family downstairs, eager to help with every problem or question you could have. Are you unsure where to buy the best... More

When we got out of our bus in HCMC the owner of the hotel came to us, asking if we wanted to stay in his hotel. We had just picked another hotel but he showed us some pictures and it looked nice. It was close tot he other hotel so we decided to take a look at the room. It... More

Lovely small guesthouse in the heart of District 1, without the hustle and bustle of the bigger streets. This family run guesthouse gives you large, very clean rooms with to large doublebeds, a/c and a pratical bathroom for only $18,- The owner and his family are genuinly friendly and helpful. Absolutly worth your stay.

Stayed in a different guest house for our first night (a very popular one, mind you, with a TINY room for the same price!) in HCMC however they were full and unable to have us for subsequent nights. So went wandering down "hotel alleyway" and came across Mai Guest House, checked in and were very happy. Fantastic place - recently... More
