We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our tour. Our room was not really like the photos - it was quite dark as the bathroom and kitchen area were on the outside wall. But I guess that meant that it was not so noisy! This hotel is fine - nothing special, but nothing really to complain about.... More

Stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group. Hotel rooms were fine and comfortable. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the lake though so I wouldn't choose this hotel again. Breakfast was ok not a lot of choice but sufficient. The Pho was alright though. Staff were a bit grumpy some days. Small bar area with... More

We stayed at the Galaxy Hotel for 4 nights upon our initial arrival in Vietnam. The location was terrific because it is right in the Old Quarter, so there are many interesting walks through the city easily available. The hotel itself was really good and provided nothing that we can complain about! Our room was good except the bathroom light... More

Nice small hotel with very helpful staff. Everything worked (you can't say that about most hotels in Vietnam) Room size was OK and we weren't disturbed by the traffic noise.Room was clean and no foreign smells Bathroom was good enough although i am not a fan of shower curtains. There is a small park across the road out the front... More

The hotel has nice rooms and mine was located so that no noise disturbed my sleep. The hotel is located just outside the old quarter of Hanoi but very close to the night market street. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk down to Hoan Kiem Lake, which is the centre of the old quarter of Hanoi. Safety box in room... More

Have stayed at the Galaxy twice now, 2009 & 2011, rooms are OK with all the usual ammenities, staff are quite helpful and once you are seated in the Bar / Cafe area you can sit and watch the world go by. Restaurant breakfast is adequate with a reasonable selection, and being central Hanoi it is just a short walk... More

The key positive regarding the Galaxy is its central location. You are walking distance from everything worth seeing in the centre of this fascinating city. If you came to the hotel for the food, room size or the internet, you're missing the point. Breakfasts are fine, then you go out and explore this great city. Food like you've never experienced... The Galaxy has a great location, but not much else. Rooms are small and we had trouble with the Internet. Breakfast is not geared towards Americans and was OK, at best. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We would look for something different next time in Hanoi.
