We stayed in the old part of the hotel, which was charming. The layout of the room was a bit awkward, probably due to its age. Very clean, lovely lobby, good location, very helpful staff. The Metropole is a high-end historical hotel that delivers on every level! We upgraded to Club Level and it totally exceeded our expectation. The staff was one of the most accomodating I have experienced! The hotel is almost worth the visit to Hanoi all by itself! Perfect hotel, perfect location for all the sights, and a staff that really cares!

Not as modern as other hotels we stayed in but that only added to the charm. The lobby was relatively small but the service was excellent. The food was very good too.
