This is a very nice hostel, most importantly they keep the A/C on all day (if you want it) not only during the night like Hanoi Backpackers meaning you can actually sleep in if you want to. The dorm beds are lush with only 6 per room and good secure storage the only downside being you need your own lock.... More

I feel as though I should write two reviews for May De Ville, as were fortunate enough to get a taste of dorm life and the kingly private rooms. I'll go ahead and get the bad stuff out of the way first: The dorms are essentially a long corridor filled with a line of bunk beds. There is not enough... More

I stayed one night in the dorm room before doing the 3 day/2 night Halong Bay tour through the hostel and then stayed one night in a private room. I cannot fault anything. The service was fantastic. The dorm was very narrow which made it hard to move around sometimes but the bathroom in the room was the best I'd... More

$6 dorm rooms in the heart of Hanoi, with excellent breakfast included! Comfortable bed, quiet room, very clean, hot shower, Wi-Fi. Felt more like a hotel than a backpackers. This is the place to stay in Hanoi. I met others who were paying the same and getting nowhere near as good value.

I have stayed at May de Ville a few times and have always been beyond satisfied with the rooms. The dorms and privates (have stayed in both) are great. The bathrooms are clean, showers are great and the breakfast is fantastic! Saying that I would strongly recommend going else where when booking trips or bus/train tickets. We booked a tour... More

Can't recommend this hostel enough. First of all, the rooms are truly luxurious for the price. The bedding is new and comfortable. It feels more like a hotel room than a hostel. The BREAKFAST BUFFET is the best thing about this hostel. They offer eggs, noodles, fruit, breads, bacon, veggies, yogurt, coffee, juice. We loved getting up in the morning... More

We paid about US$41 per night for a family room (sleeps 3) during 1Mar-4Mar 2012. Located right smack in the middle of the old quarters it's within walking distance to many sights (Hoan Kiem Lake, Water puppet theatre, museums, Hoa Lo prison etc.). Staff was very hospitable and friendly - from greeting us when we got off the cab, to... More

Clean sheets, clean toilets, good breakfast! We booked for a 6 room all girls dorm, however on our last night, the dorm was switched to a mixed dorm, without prior notice. Tips: toilets are cleaned daily with towels provided, however, try to shower early in the morning or early in the evening, otherwise the toilets would be rather dirty by... More
