We booked online with HI Hostels and when we arrived found the name was different than we expected. I suppose we (barely) got what we paid: a room, a bed, a shower and breakfast. Literally nothing more, nor would I recommend the place to a friend. Our window showed the building next to us, bathroom was in poor condition and... More

Now listed as ancient town hostel, under Youth Hostelling International flag, which would indicate a certain level of quality. Booked two nights; after arriving we even debated over staying there for one night. The rooms smell moldy and has seen better days. Paint chipping everywhere and broken furniture (railing of the main stairs was loose, bathtub rocked when you stood... More

The staff in this place were so rude, appearing as if they couldn't care less if we were there or not. The only time they appeared helpful was if there was a slight chance to make some money out of us! Everytime we walked out they would interrogate us as to where we were going (fearing we would book a... More

Our stay at this hotel was terrible! Rooms smell like mold. The bathroom doesn't even have shower curtain. The complimentary slippers are not clean. The hotel receptionists hardly speak English and are very rude. They are only friendly when they know they can get money from you. We almost lost some of our things.

We had just got back from our trip to Halong Bay and unfortunately the Hanoi Hostel was full. So they suggested a few hotels within the same price range. The room was big and the bed comfortable but the bathroom needed a shower curtain to avoid it becoming completely wet. Most of the staff are good however some can be... More

I spent there some 3 not complementary nights. Between days of my stay I traveled to other cities. It was great, that staff was always helpful and I could left there my bags even for my one week trip to other countries. The other good thing is that check-in hours depended on me, I could check in even before 11am.... More

The hotel was $15 per night, so compared to other ones I've stayed in it was a bit more than normal. Problems started at checkin which took half an hour with the owner ignoring us. The room was big and airy. Good. The sheets were dirty. The bathroom drain didn't drain AT ALL. The loud AC unit directly outside the... More

Stayed at the Lucky Queen Hotel (also known as the Moonshine Palace hotel) for a couple of nights. Staff were really helpful, letting us check in early after arriving very tired on a night train and helping us to book tours in and around the area. A lot of hotels will offer you trips and add on a commission but... More

Stayed at the lucky queen for 3 nights in Feb and from the first moment I was there I realised this is a room and breakfast and that's all. The staff are OK, by no means friendly at first but they did warm up to us towards the end. Rooms are basic but clean. Breakfasts were good but I only... More
