While planning to stay a few days, my stay was extended by a month, so something was very 'right' about this place for me. Consisting of only five rooms on the same number of levels, Madam Moon Guesthouse is on a small scale so it has a family atmosphere where staff have names & not just roles, with mutual respect... Madame Moon (and its siblings) may be a ok hotel but the fact that the transfer from the airport to the city centre (and transfer from the airport is rather tiresome in Hanoi) which the hotel supposedly organised (we were warned by other travellers' feedback and reconfirmed twice via emaiL ) never showed up was really a bore. All the... More

I made a reservation via email at Madame Moon Guesthouse and confirmed a couple of days before the intended stay. However, when we arrived (tired after a 6 hour bus ride), we we told that the hotel was full and the reservation was cancelled.

We recently stayed at Madam Moon's for 5 nights. Our room was clean and big enough , though the bed is the typical oriental hard mattress. If you like the window open, the street noise, while not atrocious, does go late and start early. Again, pretty typical for cheaper accommodation in Asia. The shower is not in a separate stall, so... We were determined to stay in Hang Hanh or Bao Khanh streets on arrival in Hanoi but found most accommodation beyond our budget. The receptionist at Madam Moon's invited us in and showed rooms to us which suited our budget and requirements. Five suites only (one on each floor) in a very small building, but the rooms were very large... More

We corresponded with the guesthouse prior to arrival to arrange train tickets and airport pickup. Our flight landed at midnight and not only was the pickup smooth, but there were people waiting for us awake to show us our room when we finally arrived. This level of service and alacrity continued throughout our stay. We found the room clean and... More

We stayed at Madam Moon for 3 nights based on the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor [and a previous stay at an associated hotel, the excellent, but more expensive, Golden Sun Legend] Communication via email before we arrived was excellent but I was disappointed with our stay at the hotel and it did not live up to expectations. We were... More

We've always wanted to visit Hanoi and thankfully we booked our tours and accommodation with Madam Moon Guesthouse (recommended to us by a friend). Mr. Binh gave us a good group tour package that already includes a 2D3N trekking in Sapa, a 1-day tour in Halong Bay and hotel accommodation in Hanoi at a very reasonable price, meals included in...
