“terrible rooms with terrible service”

we booked a deluxe double at this crappy hotel (cos splendid star suites, which we stayed at before travelling to halong bay, was fully booked) but was given a tiny superior room. internet wasnt working, toilet not flushing, tv wasnt clear. the guy at reception ignored us and continued playing on his phone when we told him about the problems... This hotel has obviously been confused with the other splendid star hotels and has also changed its name to the Hanoi Ciao Hotel. Hardly slept as surroundings so noisy and hotel reception noisy at all hours if the night. Only windows backed onto the solid wall of the building next door about 1m away so room constantly dark. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was located off the main street so the location was quiet. The breakfast was very good. The building was older which I really liked. Clean hotel. Pretty basic but the beds are comfy, the bathroom is clean and the location is quiet and in the city center. Everything you need is close by. Our experience was OK but not great. We were dropped at the wrong hotel firstly as there are 3 with the same name in the same area. Wifi & TV didnt work.
