Hidden in a small lane this hotel is a perfect refuge from the lively hart of Hanois Old Town. We liked the friendly, open harted, welcoming and familiar atmosphere very much. Sitting round the large table in the back part of the "lobby" for breakfast, being served by the grandmother of the owners family feels almost like a homestay. The... More

We had a bit of a mixed experience with Tung Trang, but still came away liking it. I booked ahead of time, and communicated with the staff quite a bit before our arrival in Hanoi. In those communications, I made it clear that I wanted to stay at Tung Trang 1, and the person I was communicating with confirmed that... More

This was one of the only hotels during my 3 week-holiday in Vietnam where I felt that the staff cared about their guests. I suppose that's because it is a family-owned hotel and they have their pride. A nice plus is that you have breakfast at the same table with whoever is hungry at that moment, with other guests, grandma... More

This was my third stay here; I also lived here for 5 weeks a few years ago, and I love the pretty, comfortable and clean rooms in this quiet Old Quarter alley. This time around, the room we bpoked wasn't ready because the previous people hadn't left - so, like several other reviewers, we had to wait three days to... More

This hotel is in the heart of Hanoi. It is for sure not a charming hotel, but the family room is really convenient (4 people) and cheap (30 USD). Good breakfast. No elevator. More

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for 4 nights - this being the beginning of our trip to Vietnam. We had arranged to be picked up from the airport by the hotel and yep when we got there was a gentleman holding a sign with my boyfriends name on it. When we arrived we were shown to our... More

+ friendly staff + awesome location + good room with window But: - although I had a reservation, I had to take a more expensive room for one night - room smelled of smoke because there has been a heavy smoker in this room before - cleaning service showed up in the room only 1 time during a 1 week... Stayed here twice this month for a total of 5 nights. We booked online and received confirmation by email. The location is good because it's down a quiet alleyway, although there's no escape from the ubiquitous scooter. We stayed in rooms 201 and 502. 201 is a double room with small en-suite bathroom. The room itself is large and has... More

Ordinary and overpriced is how I'd describe the Tung Trang. Staff were not too helpful - charged top price - key to door didn't work, tv didn't work and staff were surly. Never told about breakfast despite travelling with a child - pretty poor really. And what's this about the courtyard? - you mean the entry way. Yes, it's a... More
