Chaweng itself is extremely westernised, and when I say westernised I mean speedos, bronzed women, kids, Macdonalds, night market with people hassling you left right and centre, tons of restaraunts and bars. Very old, extremely dirty & needs major make over. Breakfast is a total disgrace. Never seen such a so called buffet. Booked a day room here to use for showering and changing before evening flight. Room was dilapidated and disgusting. Must be the worst hotel on Samui. Avoid at all costs!

Basically it came down to the cleanliness, or lack of it! In its day we think that Chaweng Beach Resort would have been very nice but it is in need of a lot of maintenance, just basic stuff too.
